Stamp Ink Paper: Elements

Today’s card is a Natural Elements Challenge and what is more natural than venicen?  At least that’s what my husband said when I asked him what he considers a natural element.  LOL

What do you consider a natural element?  Show us this week over at the Stamp Ink Card Challenge #82.

The Details:

  • Dual Colored Flowers.  The easiest ever way to color an image two different colors is with your Stampin’ Write markers.  See video below if you haven’t seen it done.
  • Masking Technique.  To give the image the look as if the deer are standing in front of tall grass, I did the masking technique.  Many know what it is, but basically you stamp the image on a piece of paper (sticky note works great) and the image already stamped on cardstock is covered to protect the image.  You then simple stamp over it.  You can view a video below to see what I’m talking about.

I have a confession to make… when I began putting this card together, I had every intention of following a card sketch challenge.  But then I realized the challenge was over… LMBO.  So, I turned it into this beauty!  There are no mistakes in cardmaking.

This gorgeous Garden Green cardstock makes the perfect pair with the Old Olive and Daffodil Delight cardstocks.  It makes the flower from Wildflower Meadow look so stunningly bright!  It's so stinkin' cute… I can't stop giving myself kudo's… LoL.

The envelope was made with the Envelope Punch Board and all I can say is I LOVE IT!  Hands down.  See how it works here.

I recently learned a technique from Sally Allnock of Operation Write Home when using die-cuts.  She cut the parts of the stamp that would otherwise be cut off.  You can watch her video here.

Although it looks like I used water coloring… I did not.  I simply colored a portion of the Wildflower Meadow stamp with our markers.

June Pals Blog Hop: All That’s New!

Thank you for joining us for the June Pals Blog Hop and our kickoff to the new catalog! Are you ready to see wonderful creations featuring new products from the 2013-14 Stampin’ Up! catalog? Get ready to update your wishlist!

You should have just left stop number 3 on the Pals Hop – Shannon Hokanson at Paper Works.  If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Wooooo whooooo… my second  “deployed” blog hop.  I’m in awe that I’m still hanging on.  The long hours, late calls, and sometimes sleepless nights are all worth it!  I’ve been on three deployments and this one is different.  Why is it different?  Because although I’m far away from home, at the end of the day… I get to stamp and Stampin’ Up! makes it possible!

When I sit in my tiny room to make a few cards, I think about the 6,762 miles my cards will travel to get to their final destination in the United States.  WoW!  Can you imagine the adventure!?

So, if you’re a subscriber to my blog and you listed your mailing address… know that before I go home you will receive a card from me.  I am living proof that you can take Stampin’ Up! anywhere in the world!

I used the new Framelits – Oval Collection (129381) to make the base of the card.  These framelits are awesome and I love them!  I can’t wait to get the circles and square one’s in the mail.  Unfortunately, it takes two weeks for my mail to arrive, but I will wait patiently.

Supplies Used from New 2013/14 Catalog:
Wildflower Meadow Clear Stamp Set (129168)
Hostess Express Yourself Clear Stamp Set (130339)
