Almost 21 at Stamp Ink Paper

I have made and collected far too many cards than I can count that I just can’t part with.  There is a little bit of me in each card and this card is no different than many others.  Eventually I will give it to someone and until then, it will sit in my collection.

Thank You

One Color Image.  I used to be the type of stamper that felt each image needed to be colored in or stamped with a solid color.  But when Stampin’ Up! released the Remarkable You stamp set it was immediately apparent any one color is just amazingly perfection.

Oval Scrap Piece.  The one hundredth reason I keep ALL my scraps (I really do), why cut an entire piece of card cardstock of Blushing Bride when I’ve had one cut for over six months!? Exactly…..great minds think alike (LOL).  The only product on this card that was not a left-over scrap were the itty bitty pearls.  How do ya like them apples? HA!

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #15

329.1I apologize for the late post my friends, but there was a fire in the central area where Comcast maintains their operations and from what I’ve heard it burnt some of the hard wires for inter service.  I’m just glad no one was hurt and this morning I say “THANKS” to the California Firemen who have been working overtime.  God Bless them. =)

On to my card…the Stamp Ink Paper challenge.  The colors this week are gorgeous together.  I don’t know what it is, but it feels to me as if the black ties the other two together.  I would love to see what you come up with.

SIP 15 When I first began participating in card challenges colors used to be my biggest challenge (duh, reason why it’s called a challenge-LoL), and I preferred sketches.  But now I love the color one’s over the sketches.  Have I gotten better?  I dunno, but I think my creative side as grown and that could be it.  Who knows, as long as I continue participating I’m one happy camper.  I’d love to see what you can do.

September On-Line Orders.  Receive Five Yards of Silver Cording Trim when you place an on-line order this month.  Simply place an order via my on-line store and use Host Code: 9YXKNX3R

Please do not select “No Contact” when placing your order.  Why?  Because if you do, I will not be allowed to contact you, even if you are a regular customer….and I will NOT be able to send you my FREE on-line order offers either.  Just make sure you select “YES, allow my demonstrator to contact me with order updates and other important information.”  Please know that I will never send you junk mail.

One Little Word…Thanks SIP #8

Thank You

I have a little bit of bad news.  This hasn’t happened to me since college!  I feel like screaming and I’m so close to pulling my hair out.  But I won’t because everyone is sleeping and I don’t want to go bald.  What did I do?  Ugh!  I can’ seriously just kick myself right now!  What did I do?  It’s down below (picture me crying right here).

SIP Where has time gone!?  We’re on card challenge number eight and I’m lovin’ it! I’m really looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week’s challenge.  Could it be a thank you card?

MAGGIE MADE TIPS:

  • Layers.  Something I’ve learned as a card-maker is the magic of layers.  Layers add dimension to a card when it’s simple and you don’t want to make it to foo-foo…like foo coffee (lol).  To determine what color to use think of the saying “opposites attract”.  For example, Crumb Cake as card base, Early Espresso to layer, and Very Vanilla to finish it off.  Did that make sense?   If not, think of it this way, dark blouse, light pants, dark shoes.
  • My bad news/mistake.  I wrote a really good post today citing an article I researched about the etiquette of sending a thank you card.   I took too long to hit the save button and wordpress timed out, thereby losing everything I had written—LoL.  I haven’t made that mistake since college many moons ago.  Imagine my heart sinking down to the pit of my stomach.  Basically, the article was about the importance of sending a thank you note anytime you receive a gift.  Read more about the article here.

August On-Line Orders.  Receive a Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack Paper Share.  That’s 20 sheets of one each of double-sided designs in 10 colors: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, gold, Sahara Sand, silver, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack cut 6″ x 6″.  Simply place an order via my on-line store and use Host Code: BZMUS7PV.

Awesome Offer…Paper Share.  The offer will continue until they are all gone (I have 2 left).  What you will receive?  One of each of all our DSP papers cut 6″ x 6″.  Perfect for cards, such as this one for that perfect size background.  Save the scraps for another day.  Why spend over $100+ just to test them and see which is your favorite.  Get your sampler pack for only $25 with FREE shipping here.

Always Open.  This week I had a conversation with a friend who expressed her desire for a discount on her paper-crafting supplies, but fear a committment or a penalty if she signed up just to receive constant reminders about making sales or holding workshops.  I told her that my team is a non-hassle, non-committment, no sales requirement team.  What does that mean?  Read it  here.

A Card with Tic Tac Toe

ThanksToday I conducted research on the power of a hand-written note and I had no idea that there is actual scientific research that proves the power of sending a hand-written note improves fine motor skills and expression‘, but it makes the receipt to feel valuable and worthwhile. Imagine that!  Seriously, when you receive a hand-written note how does that make you feel?  Leave a comment telling me how you feel when you get a special note in the mail.

When I go through the junk mail and find a note, my heart speeds up as if it’s going to explode if I don’t hurry up and open, talk about an immediately dose of sunshine on my face, and I almost get paper-cuts trying to rip it open just to read the words.  Thank you Rose for the beautiful heartfelt card you sent me (pictured below).

Challenge 6

It’s that time again for another Stamp Ink Paper Challenge and this time it’s Tic-Tac-Toe!  Call me slow, but when I first saw this challenge it took me a while to understand it.  Blame it on my first language…yes, I spoke English when I was eight years old…LOL.  But it was easier than I thought and if you’re anything like me all you do is choose a winning combination and use the square requirements to make your card.  I used the middle, Embossing, Patterned Paper, and Thanks!

ThanksMAGGIE MADE TIPS:

  • Embossed Elegance.  Nothing says style like gold embossing.  It’s the easiest and fastest way to show fine lines and softness in an image.  Nothing else is needed, not even an embellishment, at least not in my eyes.  It doesn’t get any easier than this my friends.
  • Yesterday’s Window Frame.  As promised below is the How-To video on the window frame. Please forgive my big head…LoL… it got in the way for a moment.

July On-Line Orders.  Receive a sample (one of each design) of the 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Paper.  Use it to make envelopes or on a card or scrapbook background.  Simply place an order via my on-line store and use Host Code:  9YXKNX3R.

Awesome Offer…Paper Share.  The offer will continue until they are all gone (I have 4 left).

Something Special:  I have a super-duper great announcement coming in August and you definitely DO NOT want to miss it, so if you’re not on my blog and/or newsletter subscription get on it now or you’ll miss it!  Let’s just say it’s gonna be a give-a-way worth $100!

My Arms Wide Open.

FullSizeRender-2 copyI received this card in the mail this week and it made me feel so appreciated and loved by my sweet friend Rose.  My hands couldn’t open it fast enough because I had no idea why I even deserved it.  Thank you Rose for warming my heart and making my day!

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting me today.  Don’t forget to leave a comment and tell me how you felt the last time you receive a hand-made card or letter in the mail.

A Blue Hawaiian Hello with Sale-A-Bration

[pinit]The military has  given me the gift of travel.  I’ve been around the world a few times to distant shores and all over the United States.  Places  abroad that would change the way you think, the way you eat,  and definitely appreciate your freedom.  But, the best place I never  get enough of is Hawaii.  I made this card before my trip without  realizing that the colors are a reflection of the beautiful Hawaiian colors.  I have a little over a week to go and will share with you my temporary duty assignment aka TDY adventures.   The crown reminds me of Kamehameha the Great… Hawaiian Islands first King.  Hope you enjoy this Sale-a-Bration sneak peak that starts Jan. 24th.

Beginning on Feb. 15th my virtual stamp club will debut.  Take a look at our catalogs on the right  and browse through the stamps you would love to see.  I will post details on Feb. 4th.  I’m so excited and can’t wait to share it with you.    In the meantime, Aloha  from Hawaii.

Happy Crafting,
Maggie
