Stamp Ink Paper: Color Challenge

For me, card-making is therapy and as of late, I get so caught up in the thing we call life that my therapy sessions haven’t happened as I’d like. =)  With that, I wish you an Oh, Happy Day!  I’m not even sure how many people actually stop by and check out my weekly cards, so if you’re reading this, THANK YOU!

The Details:

  • Embossed Background.  This oval-shaped background was a piece of scrap whisper white cardstock that I had laying around. I couldn’t even tell you how it was cut.
  • The Church.  The church is from the Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies.  It’s a part of a strip with another building (home) and two trees next to it.  It’s super cute and you can snip what you want or leave it in once piece.

Use Host Code above when you place an on-line order via my on-line store, but only if it’s under $150.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward.

Stamp Ink Paper – Fall

Have you tried the Seasonal Layers thinlits?  All I can say is that for the first time using it, I’m in love and I don’t even know what I’m going to make next! HA! Does it look like a Fall card to you?  It does to me and isn’t that all that matters? LOL

Join us this week at Stamp Ink Paper and showcase your Fall themed cards.

The Details:

  • Tree Branch.  Many may think that the tree branch should be sideways but, guess what?  It’s not a branch in my eyes…it’s a really skinny tree and the leaves/flowers are falling off.  But yes, it can be used as a tree branch, a skinny tree branch (HA).
  • Make a Couple Pop.  To give the card a little pop, I added Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on’ to two of the flowers.  When I say that the photo truly doesn’t do the card justice, I really mean it.  Gosh, I wish I could send it to one of my visitors, just so you can see for yourself.
  • Paper Tree.  The thin tree was made with the thinlit as mentioned above and it wasn’t stamped, but cut with the Wood Textures Designer Series Pack.  All of the product used to make this card is listed below.  If it’s not there then you missed out because it’s either retired or no longer available.

Use Host Code above when you place an on-line order via my on-line store, but only if it’s under $150.  Do not use if your order is more than $150 because you’ll receive your own additional Host Rewards.

Stamp Ink Paper: Back To School

This last week there were so many photos on social media of kids returning to school and many were sporting cute little signs.  I wonder of all those photos how many parents left little notes for their kids in the lunch boxes?  I’m willing to bet there are many, but one lucky third grader got this handmade card in their lunch bag.

The Details:

  • Garden Green Cardstock Chalkboard.  Garden Green perfectly resembles a chalkboard and to give it the real chalkboard appearance complete with chalk dust made with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder!  The picture does it no justice!
  • Versamark Pad.  To give the appearance of chalk dust, I took the entire pad of Versamark and lightly dabbed it on the cardstock and sprinkled some of the White Stampin’ Emobss Power.
  • Grade.  The coolest option for this card is that you can make it any grade you’d like.  The Numbers of Years stamp set comes with every number from 0 to 9.

Retired Stampin’ Up! Blog Hop: Fourth of July

Welcome to the very first blog hop made up of members from the Retired Stampin’ Up! Products for Sale Facebook page.  Today’s theme is Fourth of July and every project is made with retired Stampin’ Up! products.  We are very excited to show you our creations and hope to make our hops something that you will follow each month.

As a military Veteran, I’m VERY proud of being American.  As an avid stamper, I love any stamp set that has the American flag.  I also enjoy clean and simple cards that anyone can make.  Often a simple stamped image can speak volumes and I think my card with just the colored in flag oozes patriotism.

The Details:

  • One continuous stamped image.  Do you think the stamped image is one stamped image?  Nope, it sure isn’t.  It looks like one continuous stamp because I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the images and give the grass as if it’s one stamp.  I love the Stamp-a-ma-jig and how it can help you line up stamps on wood blocks.
  • Make an image pop.  Since today’s blog hop is dedicated to the Fourth of July, I wanted to add emphasis to the American flag by coloring in only the flag.  That’s the focus of my card and it’s why I didn’t stamp any sentiment.  The Red, White, and Blue speaks for itself.

You can continue to hop from blog to blog from the line-up below to see all the projects.  Please feel free to leave comments as you hop along the way.  We hope to see you again next month!

Fellow consultant Brittany’s TRUE STORY made me giggle.
Reverse Regimen
She washed her face (with R+F products of course) before dinner,
at the table her husband asked,  “Do you have makeup on right now?”
She said, “No, why?”  That’s when he said, “Wow, the products really do work!”
She said he hardly noticed when she got a short haircut and died it brown. 😂😂

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge: In Style

Welcome to the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge Tuesday style! This post is coming to you from the road.  Yes, being retired has it’s perks and I’ve been out of the country for the last four days.  What in the world would we do without WiFi?

Sometimes, it’s not difficult to create a card for a sketch challenge, but it sure is difficult to choose which set you’re going to use.  Close your eyes and just pick one! That’s exactly what I did and I couldn’t be happier because it’s already one of my favorites.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

The Details:

  • Stamp it.  Seriously!, that’s how easy it was to come up with this technique (LOL). It’s what I love about layouts.
  • Where to place the sequin!? I think this was the most difficult decision I had to make for this card.  Wherever you decide to place your sequin, just remember don’t adhere them down to the carsick until you know for sure where they  belong.  Embellishments should add a balance to the card.  But in reality, does it matter? LOL, probably not, just don’t place them on the very edge of the card.  You’ll feel off kilter.

Use Host Code above and receive a gift from me when you place an on-line order via my on-line store.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward and you’ll automatically receive a gift from me.

Butterflies: Live Laugh Love

Last weekend I was at the Stampin’ Up! On Stage Event in San Diego and besides having a blast with my crafting friends, I met an extraordinary woman named Doris Martin.  A Holocaust Survivor, she beat the odds in life! Let me tell you, she was something else and I’ll never forget her.  She signed my book and as I hugged her she held me tightly and said in my ear, “Sweetie, with Peace & Love you have everything.  So live life, laugh always, and give away your love.”  Her words put tears in my eyes and I just had to share this with you.  I just started to read her book, Kiss Every STEP and I have to say, “I can’t put it down!”  You can get one yourself on Amazon.

Having visited Dachau in Germany years ago and remembering what I saw at the museum came flooding back as if it was just yesterday.  The weird thing was that I made the card a few weeks ago before ever meeting her and I found it lovely that she used the words on the card when I hugged her.  I think I’m just going to have to send her the card.  Be Blessed and Be Thankful!  Keep on Living, Laughing, and Loving!

The Details:

  • Simplicity is in the details.  Punch, Adhere, Stamp & Emboss and BOOM you’re done!  The particular Designer Series Paper on my card is no longer available, but don’t let that stop you!  Use your favorite or whatever you have on hand.
  • Butterfly punches are retiring.  Yes, they are being retired in May and they’re only available while supplies last.  So you may want to grab them now before they’re gone for good.  With a bone folder give the butterfly wings a little curl inward to give them the in-flight 3D look.
  • Embossing powder.  Use whichever color your heart desires.  The black one I used is retired by us, but you can get more colors here.

Use Host Code above and receive a gift from me when you place an on-line order via my on-line store.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward and you’ll automatically receive a gift from me, but please never check out as a visitor.  I won’t receive your information and will not be able to send your gift.

Welcome to the Families First Pals Blog Hop for April 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations. You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

A family begins with love and that is what my project is about, a Bride-t0-Be frame for a special lady who got engaged a few days ago.  This lovely gift/project is so easy to make too! Literally, you just stamp, run through Big Shot, stamp and adhere to the designer series paper and boom…all done!  It’s cute and oh so adorable, I know any bride-to-be would love this.  I added tiny butterflies from the Perpetual Birthday Stamp set because my friend loves butterflies and they added a little personalization.

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Stamp Ink Paper: Tic Tac Toe Easter

Today’s card is dedicated to God.  He gave me Life and a talent that I still critique more than anything.  I believe in practicing reflection often and not just once a year.  Today I think of all the wonderful friendships I have made simply because I love to stamp.  Creativity is a work in progress for many of us and the #1 way to push oneself to learn more is to participate in challenges.  Thank you so much for visiting today….now in time for Easter hop on over to the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #94 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

So go on and get your Easter Bunny on with us over at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.

The Details:

  • Bunny.  Use a small oval punch or the smallest oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and cut one side straight across.  For the head, the smallest circle in the Layering Circle Framelits Dies would be perfect.  However, you can use any size oval and circle because you can make the bunny as large or small as you’d like.  I got the pink tail from a different project, which was purchased from one of the big box stores (they’re fairly cheap).
  • Crosses.  I stamped the Hardwood stamp with Soft Suede ink.  I then cut little tiny rectangular pieces to make the crosses.  They came out perfect!

Stamp Ink Paper: Kindness

I often say things like, “I love this stamp set” and I have to admit one truth…every stamp set I purchase is my favorite (LOL)!  After all, I do buy them to make cards and my private stash has grown beyond the space for them.  But in all seriousness the Kinda Electric set really is one that you will keep forever and today I’m showcasing it at the Stamp Ink Paper challenge because the challenge is to show Kindness. The Details:

  • Flat Stamping.  Never heard of it and I just made it up (LOL).  To me it just means that the card doesn’t have any layering and many refer to it as single/no-layer card.  The only added pop-up is the butterfly.  This stamp set is perfect for this type of flat stamping, yet gives a very cute elegant card.

Use Host Code above and receive a gift from me when you place an on-line order via my on-line store.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward and you’ll automatically receive a gift from me.
