Don’t Quit Your Day Dream!

What is the best and perfect way to encourage someone to continue their dreams?  With a simple handmade card…that how!  The number one value placed on a gift is time.  People will know what they mean to you when you stop for a few moments to make them that handmade card.

The Details:

  • The shirt.  Can you tell the shirt was made out of a onesie die-cut!?  I used the Babies First Framelits Dies and cut the bottom portion off!  I love the versatility of our framelits.  I used our Silver Foil sheets to make the hanger.  The possibilities are endless! I love it!

Thank You My Paper Pumpkin

TY MPP

There are two simple words that show you are grateful for what was done or given to you.  I often like to say, “There are not enough thank you’s in the world to show you my gratitude.”

So, today I say THANK YOU to you… my friend!  Thank you for signing up to follow My Paper Journey.  I’ve been at this for two years and I have learned so much from you and the blog.  If you haven’t signed up you can click right here and sign up now.

The card is an upscaled version of March’s My Paper Pumpkin and if you haven’t signed up to get the monthly kit delivered straight to your door step all I can say is your missing out on some fantastic kits.  If you missed the orignal kit card, you can find the original right here.

Lesson Learned:  You can take an original design and change it up a bit to make it your own.  With this card I used the same elements that came with the kit… the wooden ‘thank you’ die cut and the arrow stamp.

To make it my own I stamped the die cut in Silver Metallic ink with sponge daubers.  Then I embossed the arrow stamp with Silver embossing powder to give it texture.

Finally, to mimic the original card I used the flower punch that comes with the Punch Pack to give it a sparkle finish.

Forever & Always

RingsMany of us have a three-day weekend and I know how I’m spending it… making cards!  My first gathering since returning home just to enjoy the company of new friends, fun, and laughs.  I’ve started my first Shoebox Card Share and I’m filled with so much excitement that I’m just giddy like a school-girl.

WeddingThis card almost didn’t make it to the blog.  Why you ask?  Simply because I wasn’t 100% positive if it was just the way I had envisioned.  As it turns out I had a change of heart… LOL.

Originally, I wanted the card to be clean and simple with a similar look (but not the same) to this one here.

WeddingThe silver embossing is what sold me to go ahead and post it.  I love the way it just popped off the whisper white cardstock.

The indent left behind by the square framelits was not appealing to me at first, but the more I stared at it, the more I loved it.  It gave it an added sophisticated effect to it.
