Here it is my friends! The plug to the hole in my heart is the Retro Rubber (Card) Challenge. I’m not on the design team, but will start using my vast Stampin’ Up! collection of years gone past. Cards made with my ‘antique’ collection usually don’t make the blog because they aren’t available for purchase from Stampin’ Up! and I’m not selling them. But now I’ll be able to show them off on the blog and I’m so excited and I only hate that you can’t see the goofy smile on my face.
Stamp set used for the Retro Rubber Challenge (RRCB50)is the retired set And Everything Nice – 2005. It is absolutely nothing but cuteness. If you have an older stamp set you’d like to show off I’d also love to see your card on the challenge.
Water-color Madness. For over a month now I have been water-coloring like a mad woman and the best tool I’ve found that works great for me are the Aqua Painters. They come in two brush sizes and I tend to use the smaller one. I love that the brush allows me to be able to start off with a darker shade of the color and I brush in short strokes to push the color down where I want it to blend. You just have to practice practice practice.
Please Leave a Comment. Your comments give me the encouragement to continue the blog and share my love of handmade cards. I’d love for you to forward this post to a friend and say, “If I had made this card, I would’ve sent it to you.” LOL…then I want you to come back and let me know what they said.
Share Some Sunshine. Did you think of a specific friend when you first saw the retro image and read the cute sentiment? Please share it. Scroll down to the bottom of the post and click on the envelope image to share the card with someone whom you think can use a little bit of sunshine today.

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are showcasing projects using Stampin’ Up! products featuring a theme from any of the following: Valentine’s Day; Thinking of You; Get Well; or Sympathy. All of these themes come “From the Heart.” We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
Every day when I start my day I begin with a time of reflection. Whatever comes to mind, whether it was a good, bad, or ugly decision I ever made in my past I think about what could I have to make it better. Not to dwell on it, but to learn from a past error in judgement and think of what I would do today if the same opportunity arose. Today’s card is just that, a reflection of yesterday. A time when we rode our bikes and had a face-to-face conversation. So here’s to “thinking of you” Maggie (me, duh…lol) as a young kid who loved the sunshine (I still do) and the simpler days.
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!
The Sheltering Tree Stamp Set is so perfect for the cards we all hate to make, but necessary. This one was for a customer who needed a sympathy card on the masculine side. The sentiment is from my number one go-to set Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I can’t stress it enought that this set has a stamp for EVERY occasion. I seriously think it’ll never retire.
MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations.
Trees are perfect. Every stamp set that has a tree in it is so perfect for every occasion. To me, leaves signify a new beginning and an end. That is why I feel they are perfect for every type of card you make.
Since we’re on the subject of retiring stamps, yes, the time of year is upon us again. You can take a look at all the retired product here and keep in mind as you’re cruising that many of it is already on sale. This year will be the first year that I do not sell the majority of my retiring stamp sets because many have become my favorite and they’ll become a part of my private collection. So, don’t hesitate and just get them because they truly aren’t going to get any cheaper. Everything is while supplies last.
Don’t procrastinate on getting your favorite retired product or suffer the consequences later. Trust me, Ebay is NOT the place to find what you wanted. Click on Batman to jump into the Bat Mobile.
To order any of the product used in this card use this handy Supply List.
