Today’s card is for the Stamp Ink Paper Sketch Challenge.  When the Peaceful Pines stamps set was introduced  in the 2015-16 Annual Catalog I purchased it and never used it.  Something many of you may not know is that the trees are slightly different sizes….I like that!

The Details:

  • 3-D Stamping.  When I snip my stamped images to add Stampin’ Dimensionals for the 3-D look, I always stamp the image under the image.  I stamp it so that just in case the receiver looks under the pop up image they’ll also see a stamped image.  There’s no reason for it, but that I like it.  Do you do the same thing?

Anything But a Card!

Frame

My project consists of a special frame for a family member who went through a rough patch recently.  I put it in a frame and not a card because the sentiment is something I want her to see everyday.  Where did I get the frame?  It’s from an old Paper Pumpkin monthly kit that was used for Mother’s Day.  I love it because I have recycled it many times.  314-1

I’m bit old-fashion and I love making cards that show others how you feel about them.  It’s the perfect to bring Maya Angelou’s famous quote to life…”I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  I miss her words of wisdom so very much.

If you haven’t noticed by now, this year the design Pals Paper Arts Design Team members created their own sketches to highlight their own talent and showcase their designs.  Today’s card sketch is brought to you by the wonderfully talented Susan Itell.

Maggie Made Tips:

  • My Own Background. I wanted to stick to three colors (red, white, and black) and because Everyday Chick DSP didn’t have what I wanted…I made my own.  I used the dot arrow shape in the Perfect Pennants clear mount stamp set with Real Red Ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I love the versatility of our stamps.
