Happy Birthday Star Burst & Blog Candy

Happy Birthday Star BurstOver the weekend I finally took my own advice.  I spend a few hours each day first thing in the morning before anyone woke up in my craft room.  I had a couple projects to work on because they are time sensitive.  Besides discipline is supposed to be my forté right!?  I haven’t been in the military for 24 years for nothing.

When I share my love for paper crafts I often hear, “oh, I’m not crafty”.  Oh boy, those words are music to my ears because I become determined to show them that their definition of not being crafty is not in the standard stampers vocabulary… HA!

Blog Candy for Two Lucky Winners:  Who wants to know what it feels like to receive a handmade card?  I will send you one of my Maggie Made Cards and SIX Happenings Simply Created cards for you to put together and send them to six people on your list.  You will be amazed at how you will make them feel.  So, put your hand down and tell me which stamp set from the Spring Catalog is your favorite.  A winner will be announced on Sat., March 1st.

Card Challenge

An extremely talented fellow demonstrator & friend, Bring King joined the Fab Friday design team and I have decided to enter this weeks card sketch challenge in his honor.  I hope he doesn’t deny my friendship because if he does then I’ll have to send him an envelope full of glitter… LOL.

Happy Birthday Starburst

Lesson to Be Learned: I’m not an expert when it comes to color, heck, I can barely dress myself with my inability to color coordinate. Thank goodness I wear a uniform during the week… LOL.  I do have a secret weapon though… my Color Coach!  It helps me with color coordination without having to “think” about what color will match my card stock.  Our own Designer Series Paper is marked with all the coordinating card stock right on the packaging.

Birthday in Silver & Black

Birthday

I'm so excited that I’m literally writing you from the friendly skies, where the clouds look like cotton balls.  Thank goodness for WiFi in-flight now-a-days.

Watching the clouds, I pinch myself to make sure this isn't a dream… LOL.  Why?  Because I’m on my way to Stampin’ Up!’s Leadership Conference in Houston, Texas.

I was so excited with ending my two-day workweek that I completely forgot to update my blog, so the email went out blank… oh nooooo… LOL.

I'll be posting updates and pictures from my very first Leadership Conference on my Facebook page.  Will you join me?

BirthdayTo make the background on the sentiment I simply stamped a piece of Whisper White cardstock with a clear block using Smoky Slate ink.  The sentiment was embossed with black embossing powder.

I framed the Whisper White with a left over piece of Silver Foil Sheet.  I'm so glad Stampin' Up!
introduced the Basic Black 3/4" Chevron Ribbon, it adds a little touch of class to any card.

Polka Dot Birthday

Birthday

I love my little masculine birthday card and the Cherry Cobbler added a perfect accent to the Very Vanilla with the Birthday Basics designer series paper and the Label Love clear mount stamp set (on Sale Right Now!)

You have got to admit that the Artisan Label punch (on Sale Right Now!) has a very masculine look to it too!  C'mon admit it… it's a must have!  LOL.  Although, using basic gray ink simply seems to add a more bold flavor to the stamp, don't you think?

Birthday

Yes, this card was pre-made before sending my supplies home about a month ago and now that I'm home reconnecting with family is the very best thing in the world.  So much so that it's just a little bit overwhelming.

Yet the emotions are sweet with a morsel sense of peace and quiet.  Not sure if it makes sense to you and it's a tiny bit difficult to explain, but trying to re-adjust to a 13-hour time difference is not easy.

In the meantime, there is a box of Stampin' Up! goodies waiting for me in my craft room… my mind often wonders and I find myself daydreaming of the cute gifts I'm making my co-workers for Christmas… LOL.

However, I'm beyond stoked with all the special sales going on with Stampin' Up!  Check them out right now because it's the time to get them in time for either making Christmas Tags or card kits as gifts… yayyyyy!
