Stamp Ink Paper: Tic Tac Toe Easter

Today’s card is dedicated to God.  He gave me Life and a talent that I still critique more than anything.  I believe in practicing reflection often and not just once a year.  Today I think of all the wonderful friendships I have made simply because I love to stamp.  Creativity is a work in progress for many of us and the #1 way to push oneself to learn more is to participate in challenges.  Thank you so much for visiting today….now in time for Easter hop on over to the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #94 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

So go on and get your Easter Bunny on with us over at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.

The Details:

  • Bunny.  Use a small oval punch or the smallest oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and cut one side straight across.  For the head, the smallest circle in the Layering Circle Framelits Dies would be perfect.  However, you can use any size oval and circle because you can make the bunny as large or small as you’d like.  I got the pink tail from a different project, which was purchased from one of the big box stores (they’re fairly cheap).
  • Crosses.  I stamped the Hardwood stamp with Soft Suede ink.  I then cut little tiny rectangular pieces to make the crosses.  They came out perfect!

Happy Birthday: To A Classic Grandpa

Guy Greetings

Today’s card was custom made for a customer (Mark) in Alaska.  I even mailed it for him.  But what did the inside of it say?  Well, it was easy!  Mark texted me a written message which I printed and cut to size and adhered it to the inside.  Needless to say, anything handmade and custom is always loved.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge: Christmas in July

Christmas

I love Christmas, my favorite time of year and today it almost feels like Christmas.  I have always loved the Wondrous Wreath stamp set when it initially came out.  I have used it many times and this is definitely a set that is going to become one of those classics.  So many people wait until the last-minute to get one and next thing you know…BAM! It’s gone, whether through retirement or popularity.  My rule of thumb is to get a set that has the most versatility.  Enough said! =)

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

Please share your Christmas in July card, so that the rest of us can begin gathering ideas for our own cards. Please and thank you for joining us.

The Details:

  • Need a Door?. The hardwood stamp is perfect to give your card the appearance of a wooden door.  Yes, embossing it with the woodgrain folder would have given it a little dimension, but my goal was to keep it simple.
  • Underused Die-Cut. The metal horn (kind of reminds me of a shoe horn) used to hold the wreath on the door is a little underused and I almost never use it, except for today’s card. I already cut it with a left over piece of silver foil sheet when I realized, I used the gold foil sheet for the door knob.  Did you even notice it? HAHAHA
  • Lighter Shade of Red. The ribbon is actually stamped with Real Red ink, but before stamping it I stamped it off once to lighten the color.  It gives it an almost pink look doesn’t it?

JULY ON-LINE ORDERS.  Use Host Code CMMR9D62 and receive a gift from me  when you place an on-line order via my on-line store.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward and you’ll automatically receive a gift from me.

A Hawaiian Anniversary

Anniversary

Today’s card is dedicated to my brother and his beautiful bride of 25 years.  They went to Hawaii to celebrate and they shared with me the photo of the mass dedicated to them. Lovely and slightly jealous they were in Hawaii. =)

MAGGIE MADE TIPS:

  • Use real photos.  Card-making doesn’t always have to have a stamped focal point. Real photos are so personal in nature that using one to make a card that much more special. However, I did use three stamp sets to make the frame and add the lovely flowers to represent the Hawaiian adventure.
  • Photo frame video.  Yesterday’s card had a wood frame that did not require any cutting and I made a very quick video to show you how I did it.  My disclaimer…I’m pretty much straight and to the point in my videos. I’m still getting used to recording myself… LOL. Hope you enjoy.  If you want a video on today’s frame, please comment below and I’ll post it tomorrow.

New Catalog On The Way:  Anyone who has ordered from me in the last year will automatically receive the fun packed new catalog. I’ve already seen it and my wish list has 75 stamp sets on it.  This year I’ll have to pace myself (LOL).

Two Types of Demonstrators.  Business and Pleasure. What do they have in common?

  • Both get a Starter Kit with their choice of product for just $99, but choose $125 in product, to include not yet publicly released items.
  • Both have no obligation to stay active – sign up for pleasure and keep having fun or make it a business…you decide with penalty. Whether you take it or leave it…keep your goodies with a discount and get the heck out of dodge!
  • My job is to support whatever you choose and/or share my success with you.  I would love to sponsor you into my family here.

Thinking of You… Have You Thought of Me?

Thinking of You

When I first began making cards I did NOT like flowers and leaves.  HAHAHA… now I absolutely love them. I think it may have been because I don’t have a green thumb. Usually my plants die, but I soon discovered that paper flowers don’t need watering and especially you don’t need to them. Now, I just talk to myself as I’m putting a card together with flowers. This reminds me, I better go water my in-house tree my cousin Veva gave me. LOL.

Thinking of You

If you notice the specific print on the paper I used in the Back to Black designer series paper has a natural fence design to it.  It’s the perfect compliment to the hard wood print.  Also, you would NEVER know I kinda messed up the sentiment on the actual wood because THERE ARE NO MISTAKES IN CARD MAKING… LoL.  But then again, after you look at it the cover up looks much better.

Manly Monday: Hi Love

Hello Love

When I see a tree I’m reminded of  a tall (everything is tall to me… I’m 5’1″) strong masculine figure.  When a tree is cut & prepared  to become wood for the production of furniture, a home, or beautiful ‘hardwood’ floors it remains sturdy and strong the way the men in my life are (I have five brothers, plus my dad and a husband).

For this reason I am so in love with the Hardwood stamp.  The possibilities are endless and in case you missed it, you can see my previous hardwood stamp card right here.  Even after it retires I will NEVER sell it as I do my other retired stamps that you can just happen to see right here.

green

This is a very Quick & Easy card to make too.  Let me explain how I did it.  First, I cut an 8-1/2′ x 11′ in whisper white card stock in half to give me a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2′ standard A2 size card.

Second, I stamped the entire card in Old Olive ink and then stamped three of the Banner Blast stamps on whispher white, and two with White Stazon.  I then punched them out with the banner punch, which you can no longer get for free, but I will be giving my stamp set and punch for free… keep reading to find out how.

Finally, I used glue dots to adhee the banner to the left over Baker’s Twine from a previous project.  It was that Quick and Easy![clear-line]

Pals Blog Hop: Spring is Here

Welcome to the Pals March Blog Hop. This month we are excited to kick-off Spring with our creative projects. We hope you enjoy these creations and we hope Spring finds you soon!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Lynn Kolcun at Stamping with Avery’s Owlery, #28 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Spring Fence

My creation speaks Spring without a sentiment. I thought about it though… about a thousand times.  But in the end I left it off because the card itself is from a memory of Holland in 1990.

Spring Fence

When I first laid my eyes on the Blessed Easter stamp set, it took me way back to the time I spent in Europe.  I was a young girl exploring the world with the Air Force.  I had never seen such beauty in my life at that time.

To that memory I added the wooden fence I often see lining the homes of many homes during my travels all over the United States.  Growing up in Los Angeles, California… I had never seen wooden fences, only wire ones around the barrio where I grew up.

I made the fence from the Hardwood stamp and simply cut it in half and fussy cut each individual piece of wood.  Stampin’ Dimensionals give it a 3-D pop effect.  The silver mini brads complete the fence and finish off the look of nails.

Spring Fence

The next stop is Nicole Watt  at Pixel Maven’s Retreat, #30 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you next month.
