Timeless Masculine Birthday Card

Often, card maker's such as myself, don't put out a whole lot of masculine cards.  This one was a request by our interpreter. She asked for a masculine card in English.  The only thing she asked for was that it have some blue in it with a masculine touch.  I think her request was met, do you think?

The lines are hand drawn to give it the sound effect.  I can hear happy birthday playing with that little scratch in the background just like an old phonograph player.  Don't you think it even makes it seem like it's on high volume?  I think so… LoL.

Stampin’ Up! a Big Wheel Masculine Birthday

Wheel1

My dear friends.  I have been out of touch this last week because I was out in Mississippi participating in an inspection with our DoD Inspector Generals.  Although it is a task that many people hate, I embrace things like this.  Not everyone will ever get the same opportunities to train and be inspected and I must say that embracing the “suck” takes on a whole new meaning.

The camaraderie’s built with people I’ve never worked with and the flow of communication is so important is vital to ALL of us.  I will say that I am glad to be home today and the sleep deprivation was worth the new friendships made.  I will know at the end of the week how well our group did and you can read about it on my Facebook page this Friday.

Wheel3

I made the cards before I left a week ago in hopes that I would sneak in and post them for you to enjoy, but unfortunately, Internet was limited and after a 14 hour work day, my mind just couldn’t process the words to put on the post.

Needless to go on and on, I made this card for my brother Gilbert’s birthday.  He got it a few days late, but wanted to show him that I was thinking of him.  Gilbert was the clown of the family always making faces when taking family photo’s… LoL.  If we had this old style bike while growing up, he certainly would have been the one riding it.

Make a Cake with Stampin’ Up! Ingredients

I made a cake for a friend in Florida and I’m in California!  How did I do that!?  I used my very favorite Make a Cake stamp set that’s how.  It took a few days for him to receive it, but I’d think it was a hit.

I took a cup of left over Brights Designer Series Paper, 3/4 cup of Pacific Point card stock, a cup of Lucky Limeade from the 2011-2013 In Color collection, a stick of Very Vanilla card stock, and stamped it with the cake stamp in the Make a Cake set.  It was delicious and CALORIE FREE!

My goal was to make it a Quick & Easy guy card and I’m going to toot my horn and say, ACCOMPLISHED.  Now bake up your own colors and make a cake baby!

I have the new Spring mini catalog and I have many extra copies and I’d like to send you one.  Let me know if you want one by filling out this form here.

Stampin’ Up! a Pin Wheel Birthday

Very often I rack my brain to come up with a card design that won’t take up too much time to design.  As I sat staring at my craft supplies, I noticed a wrapped straw sticking out of my backpack.  That’s when the idea came to me… use the straw to make a spin wheel.  Classic!

I used left over paper from a card challenge I participated in a few days ago.  It is from the Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack – Neutrals Collection and I purposely purchased it because it has so many masculine patterns… it helps me to create guy cards.  I cut out a 2 1/2″ circle in Real Red, cut it in quarters and used a pencil to curl the edges.
