I Don’t Have Friends

Friendship

Today marks the last challenge for the long-standing Pals Paper Arts card challenges and I’ve had the honor to have been a team member for the last year and a half.  It’s been fun, it’s been real, and each and every challenge was real fun!  I’m going to miss it, but at the same time there are plans in the works to begin the entry into other card challenges.

Pals Paper Arts 324

This last sketch is one created by the fabulously talented Ginger Toivonen.  I’d love for the last challenge to go out with a bang by getting you to enter a card for the awesome sketch.

Owl Always Be a Friend

Owl never forget you and owl always be here for you said the Owl Punch as I walked into my little room.  I used the Little Leaves Sizzlits die to add the effect of branches for the owl to sit on.  Almost looks like it’s bouncing on it doesn’t it?

The use of sizzles or punches always add a bit of dimension to your cards.  I love how these two came together for my little owl card.

This week has been blah for me.  Maybe I feel this way because all I think about is the Stampin’ Up! convention that I will be missing.  The majority of my craft/card making friends are there and I’m daydreaming of all the fun they are having.

I will be thinking of them this whole week and I will be envious of the fun they will be having.  What makes this year’s convention so much more fun than any other?  It’s Stampin’ Up!’s 25th year anniversary and even though I’m not there, I’m going to watch it through the eyes of my fellow Pals.

We have a private Facebook page where we share all things Stampin’ Up! and personal stuff too.  They will be posting all about the convention and I’m so excited to start hearing about it… yayyyy.

Stampin’ Up! Above & Beyond

Being the wanna-be crafter that I am… I visited where there is “More Saving. More Doing.” to buy some materials to make pendants inspired by one of my Pretty Pals (Kathleen).  But I won’t reveal it for a couple days… I’m so excited about what I’m doing that I’m jumping up & down.  You are going to LOVE it!  Check back in a couple days.

The Original BFF’s

Friends 1

My friend Gaby and I put the second F in BFF.  We met in first grade and were stuck to the hip until her death in eighth grade.  To this day I still dream of her and when I look at her little sister’s face, I see her face and wonder what college she would’ve gone to, where would she be living, would she have joined the Air Force (like me), or what her children would’ve looked like.  I still miss her 31 years later.

Why the story?  Gaby knew I was afraid of heights and she asked me to face my fears and ride the ferris wheel at our city’s annual fair.   So I did and this ferris wheel from the Feeling Sentimental set reminds me so much of her.

If you didn’t participate in Sale-a-bration this stamp set has passed you buy.  Since it is no longer available, you can win it if you leave a comment about your best childhood memory.  I will announce a winner on April 6th.

Friends 3

There is good news with this post.  Stampin” Up! has extended the offer of 25% more product when you maximize your investment when you spend $99 on product.  So, instead of $99… you will get $156.  It is the perfect time to take us out for a Test Run and NEVER have to hold a class, NEVER have to do anything else, but start making beautiful cards.

World Treasures in a Friendship

Peacock Thanks2

Famous for their showy feathers, peacocks are also a symbol of fidelity.  My cup runneth over when it comes to friendships with peacock personalities and special qualities of genuine love.

The World Treasures stamp set will always send the love your friends give you right back to them and you can see it here.  The card measured 4 x 4 inches and added a tiny word of ‘thanks’ because although it’s small it leaves a large impression.
Peacock Thanks4 The peacock is great with or without the added color.  I added some color just to make it stand out just the “standout” friends who received this card.  I won’t tell anyone who you are Mark & Shannon… LoL… I don’t want you to be embarrased because you are what true friendship is about.
Peacock Thanks1

Now you find yourself wanting this stamp set you can definitely get it because it is available right now!  Just don’t do what I did and wait too long to use it.  Stamp lesson #101:  Never let your stamp sets collect dust.  It’s bad for your allergies.

Time is coming quickly and I don’t want you to miss out on My Paper Pumpkin kit.  There are currently over 6,000 kits that will be mailed out on March 10th and one of those belongs to one of my luckily Paper Pumpkin Players.

Peacock Thanks5

Have you ever watched the TLC show, “My Strange Addiction?”  I never have, but I wonder if my addiction to the Circle of Pals qualifies as a strange addiction…… LoL.

Language of Friendship Has No Words

I have two girlfriends that I have known for almost 17 years, Pam and Carmel.  We worked together for at least 5 of those years and we were like the three muskateers.  We often went to lunch together and made memories to last a lifetime.  As our lives evolved so did our friendship.  I was accepted to active duty in the Air Force after 16 years in the Reserves.  Carmel retired and moved to Florida to be with her first love, golf… Pam, well she stayed behind to eventually retire and now gives back to her community through volunteering.

The three of us live our dreams, keep eachother close to our hearts, and treasure the moments we can spend together.  We are living proof that friendship isn’t about words, but meanings… just like the words on this card.  Real friends pick up where they left off after long periods of absense.  I love you Pam and Carmel.

For this card I used three of my favorite colors… funny thing, they’re all my favorite colors… hahaha.  Just like my friendship with Pam and Carmel, I think these colors compliment eachother very well then if they were used individually.  I just had another thought… stamping with friends is better than stamping alone… LoL.  Now that’s a random thought.

DO YOU FIND YOURSELF STAMPING ALONE?:  Well, be alone no more.  Join my Circle of Pals and connect with an even larger group after joining.  There are many benefits in joining my Circle of Pals.  You choose to what level to take your love of your craft.  Become a hobby stamper (like me) or develop it into your business for additional income doing what you already love!  Either way, it’s your choice.  If you want to join just to get the awesome deal on a kit you design your way… I will help you put it all together to get a bigger BANG for your buck.  Call me at 707-646-1972 or email me (maggie@maggiemadecards.com) if you still find yourself thinking this is too good to be true.

DO YOU HAVE A FRIEND OR FRIENDS YOU TREASURE?:  Share this post with them.  Simply click on the envelope below the post and whala you’ll forward it to them.  Easy right?  I ain’t gonna lie.  If you forward it on, it will make me very happy.  =)
