Thank You So Much Pals!

Recently, I needed some of our Spanish catalogs for a Show & Tell and I ran out.  I asked my creative sisters (over 400+) if anyone had any left they could sell me.

Immediately, they responded and they helped me out FREE of charge!  Do you have people in your creative life that have never met you, yet your hobby has brought you together and your friendships are so meaningful you feel truly connected?

I have my own Circle of Pals and we belong to an even stronger group of Pretty Pals…. over 400+ in all!  I’m NOT exaggerating either.

We connect not just in person, but virtually, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube.  They give me creative ideas and feedback when I’m not feeling creative or I need some coaching.

My hobby and new friends have enriched my life and to thank them I send them “thank you” cards for their generosity.  YOU too can be in my Circle and become a part of the most wonderful beautifully creative people in the world.

Can Stampin’ Up! Make Some Freshly Made Snow?

Freshley made snow?  LoL… that’s the first thing I thought while putting this card together for Freshly Made Sketches #59… LoL.  What a perfect sketch to add to my Christmas card collection.  I will be sending my friends and family one of two sketches… the other one was previously published here.

I used the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper, and left over pieces of Basic Grey, Very Vanilla, and Riding Hood red.  The colors all blend together perfectly and beautifully.  A little bit of Chrochet Victoria lace ribbon, and large Pearl Basic Jewels pulled it all together.  I punched out two little blossoms from the Festival of Prints covered up with the Basic Grey cardstock.  The blossom is from the Itty Bitty punches collection.

Freshly Made Sketches #31

This card has two meanings for me.  First, I think of ALL my friends who are serving in the military and are deployed for months away from their families.  Everyday I pray for their safety and safe return home.  Second, although there are tons of card challenges out there… my thoughts are always with Freshly Made Sketches.

To make my card I turned it around and used my 2 1/2″ cirle punch through the paper and stamped my image on the Very Vanilla colored base paper.  The red ribbon adds a splash of color and brings the clean and simple card to life.  Three brads to the bottom right of the image add a cute sparkle too.

Card Challenge: {Freshly Made} Sketches #30

CLICK HERE TO VISIT {FRESHLY MADE} SKETCHES

When I made my usual rounds to check in on one of my favorite card challenge blogs, Freshly Made Sketches, I knew immediately I had to use the Large Paper Doily.  I cut it in half to fit the challenge and used the sketch to Inspire me to Create the only thing I could Imagine.  I love bright bold colors and I felt the Rose Red card stock was meant to be married with the colors in the Twitter Pad Designer Series Paper.  I took it just one step further and embossed the doily, but the picture does not do it justice.  It gives it an ever so soft and subtle texture.  I know exactly who I will send this card to, but can’t mention it because this person checks my blog on a daily basis.  But you will know who you are when you see it in your mailbox.  =)

MaggieMade Tip:  When cutting doily’s or other intricate designs, such as this one… use a guillotine type paper cutter.  I thought I could use a paper slicer that has a pointy edge that slices paper and boy did I wish I had not destroyed the perfectly doily cutout.  Intricate lacy cuts need to be sliced straight down to achieve a perfectly clean cut.  Hope this advise helps you before it’s too late… =)

Summer Smooches Blog Candy:  Just a reminder that I will be announcing the winner on Mon., April 16th.  I will be using the Pick a Random number tool at http://www.random.org.  So, if you haven’t left a comment… there’s still time.  Go to Summer Smooches Petite Purse post and leave your comment.

Stampin’ Up in the Air with FMS #22

[pinit]As I head out the door to what I hope to be my last temporary duty assignment overseas (not Hawaii this time), I needed a card idea that was “out of my comfort zone”…so I chose colors I seldom use.  I put this birthday card together for the {Freshly Made} Sketches #22.  I enjoy using every bit of paper from my inventory, but I often find myself neglecting some of the prints I don’t know how to use.  I pulled out a print that I had not used before and whala.  Continue reading below to find out about how to get free stamp sets from me through my Mata-bout Paper Rewards.

MATA-BOUT TIP: Pearls don’t always have to be white or vanilla color… it’s easy to change the colors with the use of a colored sharpie. I wanted the pearl color to stand out in the center of the flowers. Rhinestones can also be colored in to add a little bit of bright bling to any project.  All supplies needed to duplicate any of my cards are available through my on-line store and you can browse through it 24 hours 7 days a week!

SALE-A-BRATION! Time is flying by, so get your wish list together and place your order before March 31st. You will earn FREE product with every $50 you order. Click on FREE logo to learn more.  Items from the clearance rack also count…it can’t get any better than that!

EARN FREE STAMPS:  When you order from me, you will automatically be enrolled in my Mata-about Paper Rewards.  Receive a Butterfly Reward Punch for every $25 spent in product through my on-line store or via email. Order more than $150 and in addition to a Butterfly Reward Punch, you will also receive Hostess Rewards!  More bang for your buck!

Memories Last a Lifetime (FMS #20)

FMS Princess Badge

This post is dedicated to Mrs. Lydia Deocampo.  Her husband, Ed aka “Honeyboy” went to Heaven on Jan. 6, 2012.  She has been feeling sad and lonely without her husband of more than 50 years.  Her daughter Gemma said, “My Papa was her memory; couch potato & “iron chef” partner; breakfast, lunch, and dinner date; medicine reminder; bill payer & organizer; Christmas stuff decorator, idol & fan; dishwasher; shopping, prayer, and church companion; and, best of all, her best friend and partner for more than 50 years!”

FMS #20

When I read her post I knew I had to make Mrs. Deocampo a special card that would let her know that she is thought of by many of us in her time of sorrow.  I had the perfect stamp and FMS #20 was the perfect sketch.  This is why I love my hobby… it lets people know that they are in the thoughts and prayers of others.

I hope that this card brings her just a little bit of sunshine and a smile to her beautiful face because she is held up high in prayer for peace and comfort.  Her sweetheart’s MEMORIES will live in her heart for an eternity and those same MEMORIES will be carried on by their children.  I met him years ago and he welcomed me into his loving home offering me his friendship, as I was visiting their daughter, Gemma, who served in the Air Force with me.

Freshly Made Sketches #16

WoW! is all I think of when I made this card.  I litteraly made this card in 15 minutes!  No kidding.  I wanted to make the Freshly Made Sketches #16 contest and my goal was to get it done sometime before midnight.  I have just a few minutes left… feel free to check out all the other cards that were submitted for the contest at Freshly Made Sketches.

The sketch seems simple enough and I just had to give it a try.

Happy Stampin,
Maggie
