Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge #271

Hello Pals Paper Arts Challenge

Happy Thursday everyone and welcome to this weeks Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  It’s been a very busy week, but hey guess what!?  It’s two posts for one day today and I sometimes have no clue how I get things done.  I’m on month five since retirement and it’s been a whirlwind of so much going on in my life.  However, as the world spins around me once I step into my craft room it’s slow motion time.

The colors that mark the beginning of Fall. Once upon a time I used to dislike color challenges.  Why?  Because I have no sense of color combinations and have a hard time judging what colors go well together.  Fast forward, half a year and I absolutely love color challenges.  I don’t have to guess what colors blend…it’s already done for me. LOL… what will you put together this week?

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I am truly grateful that I am able to continue my stamping journey.  I never know what I may do one day to the next, but you’ll never know how grateful I am to have you stop by and visit my blog.

Oh how I miss visiting New York.  I’m a West Coast girl who loved living on the East Coast for four whole years!  I don’t mind cold weather… it gives me a reason to stay inside and craft… LoL.

Shoveling snow?  Well, that’s a part of life and a great way to stay fit.  Many have asked what was my favorite thing about New York… I must say I can’t point out one specific thing.  I loved everything… even the people… LOL.  They aren’t rude – just straight forward!

SSSC213This is a new sketch challenge for me and when I saw it, I knew I just had to try it!  Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 213

NY

Lesson Learned:  Don’t ever be afraid to make a card size that is outside your comfort zone.  I very rarely make card that are not the standard A2 size (4-1/4″ x 5″ or vice-versa).  The card base on this oddity is 7-5/8″ x 8″ and once it’s folded in half it becomes 7-5/8″ x 4.

However, I knew not to worry about finding the perfect envelope because once I figure out who I’m going to mail it to… I will use my handy dandy Envelope Punch board to make one with. HA!  The envelope punch is so much fun to use there there are days when I just want to make envelopes all day long… LoL.

Quick true story… during Sale-a-bration (sorry if you missed it), I earned a FREE Big Shot Die-Cut Machine.  It hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m thrilled to know I’ll have an extra one to use during a workshop.  Then again, I toy with the idea of giving it away once I hit a certain milestone in my Stampin’ Up! journey.  Kicker is, I’m gonna let y’all determine what I do with it.  I welcome your comments with suggestions of what you would do with it if you were me.

Facebook LikePerhaps I should give it away the moment I get 500 “Likes” on my Facebook page… hmmmm… now that’s an idea.  My thoughts are churning.

Merry Monday Christmas

When this gorgeous designer series paper was shown in the Holiday catalog I knew I had to have it.  It gives the card a crisp festival feeling just right for Christmas cards.  I know we are just getting ready for Thanksgiving, and I am thankful that out of the hundreds of other things you can be doing, you have stopped by to look at my cards and read this blog.  On another note, have you started your Christmas cards?  Get hoppin’ you don’t have much time left.

Today I stumbled upon a card challenge blog dedicated to Christmas cards and I took the challenge to create a card for their Merry Monday #42 card challenge.  Thanks again for stopping by and have yourself a fabulous day!

The two highlighted products used to make this card were Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper and Chock-full of Cheer stamp set.

Saturday Sketch Challenge #237 with Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peaks

Being an active duty military member, I am only able to be a Hobby Stamper (for now), and therefore have to make cards a few days ahead of time.  This card is for one of my five brother’s who’s birthday will fall on a day while I’m way on temporary duty.  Since I won’t have access to my crafting supplies, I had to make it ahead of time.  Since becoming a Stampin Up demonstrator I started to dislike traveling because I love stamping so much I miss it when I’m away from home.  Next week I will be sent to Hawaii and I will not complain from not being able to get any stamping done.  I will not be able to post for the two weeks that I will be away enjoying paradise during off duty hours. =)  Needless to go on and on, I made this card for the Saturday Sketch Challenge #237 at Stamping 411.

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Patterns Stack (117157), Riding Hood Red (111348), Daffodil Delight (119683); Ink: Real Red (102482); Stamp Set: Sale-a-Bration (Jan. 24th) Fresh Vintage (Clear 125117); Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049); Envelope: Whisper White 5 3/4 x 4 3/8 (107301)

The sketch seemed like something I could handle at my level.  What do you guys think? =)
