Stamp Ink Paper – Fall

Have you tried the Seasonal Layers thinlits?  All I can say is that for the first time using it, I’m in love and I don’t even know what I’m going to make next! HA! Does it look like a Fall card to you?  It does to me and isn’t that all that matters? LOL

Join us this week at Stamp Ink Paper and showcase your Fall themed cards.

The Details:

  • Tree Branch.  Many may think that the tree branch should be sideways but, guess what?  It’s not a branch in my eyes…it’s a really skinny tree and the leaves/flowers are falling off.  But yes, it can be used as a tree branch, a skinny tree branch (HA).
  • Make a Couple Pop.  To give the card a little pop, I added Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on’ to two of the flowers.  When I say that the photo truly doesn’t do the card justice, I really mean it.  Gosh, I wish I could send it to one of my visitors, just so you can see for yourself.
  • Paper Tree.  The thin tree was made with the thinlit as mentioned above and it wasn’t stamped, but cut with the Wood Textures Designer Series Pack.  All of the product used to make this card is listed below.  If it’s not there then you missed out because it’s either retired or no longer available.

Walking in the Rain

Friendship

Here it is my friends!  The plug to the hole in my heart is the Retro Rubber (Card) Challenge. I’m not on the design team, but will start using my vast Stampin’ Up! collection of years gone past.  Cards made with my ‘antique’ collection usually don’t make the blog because they aren’t available for purchase from Stampin’ Up! and I’m not selling them. But now I’ll be able to show them off on the blog and I’m so excited and I only hate that you can’t see the goofy smile on my face.

everything-nice-2005-suStamp set used for the Retro Rubber Challenge (RRCB50) is the retired set And Everything Nice – 2005.  It is absolutely nothing but cuteness.  If you have an older stamp set you’d like to show off I’d also love to see your card on the challenge.

Friendship The Details:

  • Water-color Madness.  For over a month now I have been water-coloring like a mad woman and the best tool I’ve found that works great for me are the Aqua Painters.  They come in two brush sizes and I tend to use the smaller one.  I love that the brush allows me to be able to start off with a darker shade of the color and I brush in short strokes to push the color down where I want it to blend.  You just have to practice practice practice.
  • Please Leave a Comment.  Your comments give me the encouragement to continue the blog and share my love of handmade cards.  I’d love for you to forward this post to a friend and say, “If I had made this card, I would’ve sent it to you.” LOL…then I want you to come back and let me know what they said.
  • Share Some Sunshine.  Did you think of a specific friend when you first saw the retro image and read the cute sentiment?  Please share it.  Scroll down to the bottom of the post and click on the envelope image to share the card with someone whom you think can use a little bit of sunshine today.

Stamp Ink Paper: Clean and Simple #64

Stamp Ink Paper Thank You

Do you remember the Swallow Tail that was retired?  So many were disappointed when it was retired, but if you have the Butterflies Thinlits dies you can emboss the large butterfly without cutting it all the way through.  Have you ever ran a die-cut through your Big Shot and the die-cut was too worn out?  Well, you can duplicate that same effect with any die-cut and rubber mat.  See the details below.

SIP 64

I’d love to see you try this technique and play along with us at the Stamp Ink Paper this week.

Stamp Ink Paper Thank You

The Details:

  • Emboss with a Die-Cut.  To emboss with a die-cut all you have to do is replace the bottom plate with a Silicone Rubber mat!  Yes, that’s all you need! If the sandwich is a little too thin when running it through, simply add a piece of cardstock under the one you’re cutting.  Still to thin?  Add another. =)
