Retired Stampin’ Up! Blog Hop: Fourth of July

Welcome to the very first blog hop made up of members from the Retired Stampin’ Up! Products for Sale Facebook page.  Today’s theme is Fourth of July and every project is made with retired Stampin’ Up! products.  We are very excited to show you our creations and hope to make our hops something that you will follow each month.

As a military Veteran, I’m VERY proud of being American.  As an avid stamper, I love any stamp set that has the American flag.  I also enjoy clean and simple cards that anyone can make.  Often a simple stamped image can speak volumes and I think my card with just the colored in flag oozes patriotism.

The Details:

  • One continuous stamped image.  Do you think the stamped image is one stamped image?  Nope, it sure isn’t.  It looks like one continuous stamp because I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the images and give the grass as if it’s one stamp.  I love the Stamp-a-ma-jig and how it can help you line up stamps on wood blocks.
  • Make an image pop.  Since today’s blog hop is dedicated to the Fourth of July, I wanted to add emphasis to the American flag by coloring in only the flag.  That’s the focus of my card and it’s why I didn’t stamp any sentiment.  The Red, White, and Blue speaks for itself.

You can continue to hop from blog to blog from the line-up below to see all the projects.  Please feel free to leave comments as you hop along the way.  We hope to see you again next month!

Pals Spring Catalog Favorites Blog Hop: Hearts A Flutter

Thank you for joining us for the first Pals Blog Hop of 2013!  Today the Stampin’ Pretty Pals are excited to introduce you to new Stampin’ Up! products that are available in the Spring Catalog.  We hope you find inspiration and ideas for using the new stamps, papers and accessories.

You should have just left stop number14 on the Pals Hop – Claire Crotteau-Hutt at Stamp Paper Scissors.  If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

There are many items I fell in love with in the Spring Catalog, but will show you the three items that ranked at the top.  The first is the Tea Lace Paper Doilies because they come pre-cut and ready to stamp on, glue on, or color in.  They are so delicate and dainty they remind me of the doilies my grandmom (Mi Nena) used to crochet.

My mom has also made many doilies for me and they look so close to the Tea Lace.  She makes me different colors to match my furniture and they will certainly become heirlooms that I will pass down to my son.  Well, maybe his wife… or daughters… LoL.

My second favorite item is the Hearts a Flutter stamp set, which you can purchase with a framelits die as a bundle.  I punched out a tiny red heart from the Two Step Owl and it’s oh so heavenly perfect for my Valentine. =)

Although my love for clean & simple cards is natural for me, I couldn’t resist my third favorite item… the silky smooth two-tone 1-1/4″ ribbon.  You gotta feel it with your fingers to appreciate the softness in the material.

Stamp Set:  Hearts a Flutter (C129252)
Embossing Folder:  Adorning Accents (125601)
Paper: Basic Gray  (121044), Very Vanilla (101650), Whisper White (100730)

Framelits Dies:  Hearts A Fluttere (130159) Bundled with Stamp Set (C131097)
Ink: Basic Gray (126981)
Ribbon: 1-1/4″ Basic Gray/Basic Black Two-Tone
Paper Doilies:  Tea Lace (129399)
Paper Punch:  Two Step Owl (118074)

Pals December Blog Hop: Celebrations

We’re so glad you could join us for the final Pals Blog Hop of 2012!  Today the Stampin’ Pretty Pals are excited to celebrate all of our favorite occasions of the year!  And what’s a little celebration without some sparkle?!

You’ve probably hopped over from Nicole Watt at Impressions By Nicole, I’m stop number 20 on the Pals Hop and I’m glad you hopped in!  I’ll help you “hop along” from blog to blog where you’ll find great ideas for Stampin’ Up! products from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you’ll be back on track.

I chose to make a Paper Bow with a bit of a sparkle.  To make the bow I used our stunning, no-mess Glimmer Paper in Red and Silver.  To give it a peppermint touch like a candycane, I used a few slivers of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper.  You too can make this gorgeous handmade bow in just a matter of minutes and you can click here to download the step-by-step instructions.  Remember, it doesn’t have to be Christmas to make a bow.  They work wonders on birthday presents, Valentine’s gifts, and Anniversary’s.

Pals August Blog Hop: Holiday Catalog

Glad you could join us for some holiday crafting with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals! You’ve probably hopped over from Angela Curry at Kindred Stampers, I’m stop number 22 on the Pals Hop and I’m glad you hopped in! I’ll help you “hop along”   blog to blog where you’ll find great ideas for Stampin’ Up! projects featuring the new Holiday Catalog!  Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you’ll be back on track.

Up until the night before the blog hop, I had no idea what in the world I was going to make for this month’s blog hop.  But then I remembered that a little over a week ago, my monthly card class made simple Christmas cards.  The original was similiar, but used a differnt stamp set.  This card has only one item from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Can you guess what that item is?

No, it isn’t the Whisper White cardstock, but if you guessed the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper, you are absolutely spot on!  When I ordered the paper I had not realized this one was a flocked window sheet.  I instantly fell in LOVE with the paper.  I also punched out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper to add that beautiful sparkle in the back ground.

I used basic black ink to stamp the sentiment from the Chock-Full of Cheer stamp set and punched both papers using the Ornament Punch.  The newly introduced 1/4″ Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon tops the Ornament with a simple loop.  The Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder completes the elegant yet simple card.  Hope you enjoyed my card and please feel free to reproduce it.  You can email me if you have any questions.

Pals June 2012 Blog Hop: New Catalog

Catalog!  You’ve probably hopped over from the beautifully talented Dawn Tidd at Tiddbits from Dawn, I’m stop number 18 on the Pals Hop and I’m glad you hopped in!  I’ll help you “hop along” from blog to blog where you’ll find great ideas for new Stampin’ Up! products from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals!  Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you’ll be back on track.

I am in love with the new catalog.  The new stamps are absolutely stunning!  The brand new 2012-14 In Colors are beyond your color imagination.  They all match perfectly with all the new Designer Series Paper.

I am learning to mix and match colors together so they all compliment eachother.  In designing my card, I purposely added a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to ‘create’ a 3-D effect to a few of the dots.

Pals April 2012 Blog Hop: Babies and Children

Oh, Baby!  It’s time for the Pals Blog Hop!  Today the Stampin’ Pretty Pals are sharing some fabulous cards and projects for babies and children that we think you’ll enjoy!  You’ve probably hopped over from Nakaba Rager at My Stampin’ Blog, I’m stop number 4 on the Pals Hop and I’m glad you hopped in!  I’ll help you “hop along” from blog to blog where you’ll find great ideas for paper projects for babies and children from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you’ll be back on track

This card is not one of my ‘orignal’ creations, it has been around for quite awhile, but this is my version of the baby carriage.  I have never used so many punches ever and this card required use of seven different punches, to include my 17 year old’s protractor.  I made two four inch circles and folded them in half leaving space to write two messages in each.  The diaganol plate came in handy too… it’s what I used to score the lines on the hood.

MaggieMade Tip:  Don’t ever get stuck buying tons of different colored rhinestones to match your projects… buy the clear ones and simply use a colored Sharpie to color them in.  In the long run, you save money.

Pals February 2012 Blog Hop

It’s the occasion of the year as the Stampin’ Pretty Pals share some fabulous cards and projects featuring Stampin’ Up!’s Occasion Mini and Sale-A-Bration products on today’s Pals Blog Hop!

You’ve probably hopped over from Jennifer Takacs at My Stampin’ Blog, I’m stop number 14 on the Pals Hop and I’m glad you hopped in!  I’ll help you “hop along” from blog to blog where you’ll find great ideas for paper projects showcasing Stampin’ Up!’s Occasion Mini and Sale-A-Bration products from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals!  Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you’ll be back on track.

This is my one of a kind non-traditional Valentine’s Day Card.  It is the first time I’ve used the Labels Collection framelits and I absolutely love them!  You will definitely see more cards made with these in the very near future.  The stamps are from two separate sets both available now in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I love how Stampin’ Up! incorporated the bright bold colors of orange, baby blue, and red on one sheet of paper.  It opens up so many possibilities and allows individual creativity to shine through.

A quick hint to add a bit of dimension to any of your cards are to use Stampin’ Dimensionals to give your card a bit of a 3D effect.  I used them on the Everyday Enchantment DSP to add a slight raise to the Love stamped inside the framelit.  The gentle subtle pop of the paper allows the eyes to focus on the message of LOVE and doesn’t look flat against the Bashful Blue paper.

Please leave a comment when you get to stop #25 and give a shout out to the beautifully talented Pretty Pal, Nicole Watt at Impressions by Nicole for creating our blog hop badge and buttons!  She designed them using the Everyday Enchantments DSP from the SAB One Big Sale-A-Bration CD (127220).  If you haven’t done so already, make sure to download a free 30-day trial of My Digital Studio!

Card Ingredients Make This Cute LOVE Card:
