What better way to wish someone good luck than with an elephant blowing out gold? I was a little apprehensive about buying this stamp, but my niece loves elephants and when I travel, I buy her an elephant souvenir. Guess what she’s getting when she graduates from Radiology school!? You guessed it…this cute card!
Each week I am in constant awe of my teammates over at Stamp Ink Paper. Their talent is absolutely incredible and they never cease to amaze me. The cards everyone uploads are equally fantastic and I love visiting various blogs and other social medial posts with hand-made cards. Jump on over and check out the talent!
Spotlight Technique. I didn’t know that was the technique I used after I shared the card on our blog team page. We all have various stamping & designing styles and they’re all acceptable. It’s “art” and anything goes!
Metallic Sequin. I didn’t get the idea of designing the card with golden sequin being blown out of elephant’s trunk until after I put the card together. What better way than to wish someone good luck with gold? I’ve always been told that an elephant with its trunk in an upwards position brings good-luck and you know it’s true. As I was designing the card I received a notification that I won a $25 gift certificate from a graphic designer I use for my graphic art design business (invitations & more).
Two-tone Colors. To keep the good-luck theme I used Elegant Eggplant (deep purple) because purple has been known for royalty & wealth for centuries. My niece has definitely earned her way through school by working hard and she will be rewarded for sure. Don’t worry, she’s too busy to follow my blog, so I’m not worried she’s going to see it before she receives it. (LOL)

Beer cake anyone? Although I absolutely love the beer cake batter mix sold by Pampered Chef there is someone else in my household that loves liquid beer cake. It’s known to many as liquid courage too, but this household has enough liquid courage, especially since we are a military family…LOL.
As ink is to paper, barley is to beer and since are both low in fat and protein but rich in satisfaction, I made this wonderful welcome home beer cake for the better half when he returned from deployment.
Listed below are the products used to make the sign, but you must know that the straws came from the June My Paper Pumpkin monthly surprise kit. I already knew I was going to make a beer cake and when I received the June kit, I knew right away how I would use them, so I held on to a few straws. They were perfect!

You have got to admit that the Artisan Label punch (on Sale Right Now!) has a very masculine look to it too! C'mon admit it… it's a must have! LOL. Although, using basic gray ink simply seems to add a more bold flavor to the stamp, don't you think?
Yes, this card was pre-made before sending my supplies home about a month ago and now that I'm home reconnecting with family is the very best thing in the world. So much so that it's just a little bit overwhelming.
Yet the emotions are sweet with a morsel sense of peace and quiet. Not sure if it makes sense to you and it's a tiny bit difficult to explain, but trying to re-adjust to a 13-hour time difference is not easy.
In the meantime, there is a box of Stampin' Up! goodies waiting for me in my craft room… my mind often wonders and I find myself daydreaming of the cute gifts I'm making my co-workers for Christmas… LOL.
However, I'm beyond stoked with all the special sales going on with Stampin' Up! Check them out right now because it's the time to get them in time for either making Christmas Tags or card kits as gifts… yayyyyy!
