Inspiration…Where do I get it!?

IMG_9617

Have you ever had scraps lying around and have no idea what to do with them, but at the same time you don’t want to throw them away because you may have a slight paper hoarding tendency?  Or maybe those scraps bring you inspiration?  The other morning I decided to make some boiled eggs for breakfast and as I burned the water (yes it can happen) I noticed that the mental beneath the burners may need replacing.  It’s really scratched up, but I’m not sure how it happened (LOL).  So for me inspiration comes from anything and everything. HA!

SIP CHALLENGE 44

Now let me explain my inspiration from this card to the one I came up with.  It’s actually a misinterpretation and I’ll explain it as best I can.  When I first saw this challenge my brain only focused on the word “Inspiration”. The photo didn’t click and I’m going to blame the Spanish side of my brain.  English was my second language and I translated the challenge as “make a card out of something that inspires you.”  You get  my drift? I seriously am laughing so hard my belly hurts.

Maggie Made Tips:

  • Inspiration is everywhere. Just as the circles inspired my card you can take a look around the shapes of building, the way a flag is folded, or even the lighthouse near the ocean.  Craft it like you see it and let the paper interpret what you see.
  • Star shaped cutout. I added a star because it gave the card something to give it a pop.  It also screams “I’M RIGHT HERE!” to the circles that may look like it overpowering the card.
  • Forced color blending. To pull a little of the Old Olive cardstock into the sentiment I stamped the splatter in Old Olive ink on the whisper white cardstock I used to stamp the sentiment on. It kind of forces color into the circle to give it a lift.

There are not enough words in the Spanish or English language to express my sincere appreciate for taking the time out of your busy day to stop by.  I have so many exciting things going on in my life that I’ve decided to take one tiny small step (from my graphic design business) and do more of what made me fall in love with Stampin’ Up!…….and make more cards!   I’m still going to do it, I’m just going to cut back on the number of orders I take each week. Have a blessed day and week!
