Forever & Always

RingsMany of us have a three-day weekend and I know how I’m spending it… making cards!  My first gathering since returning home just to enjoy the company of new friends, fun, and laughs.  I’ve started my first Shoebox Card Share and I’m filled with so much excitement that I’m just giddy like a school-girl.

WeddingThis card almost didn’t make it to the blog.  Why you ask?  Simply because I wasn’t 100% positive if it was just the way I had envisioned.  As it turns out I had a change of heart… LOL.

Originally, I wanted the card to be clean and simple with a similar look (but not the same) to this one here.

WeddingThe silver embossing is what sold me to go ahead and post it.  I love the way it just popped off the whisper white cardstock.

The indent left behind by the square framelits was not appealing to me at first, but the more I stared at it, the more I loved it.  It gave it an added sophisticated effect to it.

The Greatest of These is Love

Love

1 Corinthians 13:13
New King James Version (NKJV)

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

I made this card last April as a birthday card for a friend and if you’d like you can read the original post here.  Today I’m reposting it as it reminds me of the bible verse above.

Yesterday I became very angry at someone and I was telling myself that this person didn’t deserve good things.  I took a time out (yes adults need to take a time-out sometimes) to reflect on why I needed to love this person as myself.

It took me an hour… =) but needless to go on and on, I kept seeing this card in my mind as I prayed for this person and that is why on Valentine’s Day… it is here to remind us (but mostly me) that “…the great of these is love.”

So have yourself a lovely day of spreading the love… put a smile on your face and know that you are loved.

Fresh Prints Valentine’s

Be My Valentine

A very clean and simple Valentine’s Day card that my son helped me put together.  I chose the real red card stock because that is his favorite color.  I wanted a little bit of dark pop and that’s why I chose the chevron ribbon.

What you don’t know is that today I had the stitches removed from the oral surgery I had last week.  It didn’t hurt much, it just felt like tiny pinches.  Even after the small discomfort I’m happy happy happy!

The braces are coming off in a few weeks and I couldn’t be happier! =)  My underbite will be fixed I will no longer break my two front teeth… LOL.  Then time for a new picture!  Yayyyy.

I Lava You Peek-a-Boo

Valentine's Day

Good Day to you!  This morning was a cool 38 degrees in Northern California and it couldn’t have been any more beautiful.  Although I love the cold weather this is perfect for a fleece jacket.  I thank my lucky stars the Air Force adopted the Army’s fleece style for us.  Now on to this cute heart of hearts card.

My goal with this blog is to teach YOU the simple art of creativity in paper crafting!

It has a 3-D effect that will look like a mad paper scientist but it together, but its exactly that…

it just LQQKs that way.

That is why this card is so simple ANYONE can create it.

When you place the Very Vanilla heart on the inside of the card make sure to close it and then place it through the front using Stampin’ Dimensionals, which you already punched out with the Full Heart Punch.  Also use a dimensional for the Coastal Cabana Small Heart Punch to add more dimension to your hearts.

I’m getting so excited for Valentine’s Day because you can freely give out oodles of love and people won’t think you’re crazy… well, I am just a little bit crazy… LOL

Hung Up On You

Valentine's Day

This card totally reminds me of wearing socks and sliding on a wood floor… swoooooosh!  My eyes see the hearts sliding in from the left and stopping to the right of the card.   The smaller hearts are so saturated with love you gotta hang them out to dry on the Linen Thread.  I’m flooded with  so many memories of my childhood when I would wash my own clothes and had to hang them outside because we didn’t have a dryer, just a washer… ahh the simple things in life.

Please leave me a comment and share what one thing from childhood are you still hung up on?

Valentine's Day

It’s funny how this one simple card reminds me of so many things from over 20 years ago.  More so from being so particular about my clothes that I washed them myself from the age of nine.  Back then I had never heard of OCD… LOL.  My mom never ever said, “I’ll do your laundry.”  But now when I visit her she enjoyes folding my clothes straight out of the dryer… she knows my habit never left me… LOL.

Texture Boutique

The first thing out of my mouth when I first saw this cute little Texture Boutque embosser was, “I HAVE TO HAVE IT!”  Like my laundry… I’m very particular about my Stampin’ Up! tools.  I don’t like using my Big Shot for anything else than cutting with it.  With that said, this is perfect for me!

With the Texture Boutique, it’s embossing made easy.  It’s the perfect, portable tool to create embossed cards, tags, embellishments, and more.  Use it with our Stampin’ Up! exclusive Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

We Blend Well… Together

Valentine's Day

As I sit to write about today’s card I taste cinnamon with a bold rich taste of love.  =)  Yes, it’s simple black ink, but the real red card stock for the card base literally jumps out at you.  Why do I think that?  Because the base of the card is like the foundation it is strong and will endure the test of time when it’s blended.

We Blend1

This card is a unique 5-1/2″x5-1/2″ in size.  I made it this big because I’m going to demonstrate how to make your own envelope at a workshop using the Envelope Punch Board, which is one of my favorite tools Stampin’ Up! has made available to us.  You can see the how to use it video here.

Bee Mine

Valentine's DayI have seen many variations of this card, but the one is mine.  I have loved the nesting framelits we have and the hearts are my all time favorite.

The cut outs remind of the times when I was in grade school and I would hold a piece of paper in half and use my thumb as a guide to make a heart cut out.  Did you ever do that?

What a great memory… I’m just glad I can now use Stampin’ Up!’s heart framelits and get a perfect cut out each and every time! =)

Valentine's DayI performed just a wee bit of tape surgery on the bee to separate it from the word “mine.”  I do not own the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Marker, so I had to tape up the heart while stamping it with the ink pad.

The Real Red Stampin’ Marker was used to line in the heart.  Adding a rhinestone finished it off.  Quick and Easy card, yet classy and perfect for your perfect Valentine.

My Paper Pumpkin

I have already ordered My Paper Pumpkin for February and since I saw with my own eyes what the kit looks like I’m beyond excited to be getting it in the mail today.  I will put a least one card together and show it to you soon.

When card sketches inspire me, I find ways to think outside the box.  At my next workshop this card will be one of several showcase samples.

My goal is to always show workshop attendees various cards that can be used in a set.

The work shop’s main attraction was posted a couple of days ago, but you can see it again here.

Stampin’ Up! a Valentine Bee

Valentine's Day

I CASE’d (copy & share everything) a card from a fellow Pal, Kindra Delaney (posted below).  I’m going to use it at a Valentine’s Day themed workshop.  I’m so excited I could barely contain myself.

Valentine's Day

The 30 tiny hearts were glued down with tiny dots, but you can use any adhesive that you like most.  Just make sure to lift up the edges after they have all been glue down.  It helps give them a 3-D effect.

Valentine's Day

This is the card Kindra gave us as her Pals Swap at Leadership.  I must say it is perfect for CASE’g and that is why I’m using the sketch for my card.

Love in Tempting Turquoise

Valentine

The greatest gift is love… and this Valentine's day I'm going to give it freely.  Just like Christmas cards I'm sending them to those on my list… naughty or nice… LOL.

Love

I 'love" the Expressions Thinlits Dies, no pun intended…LOL.  The set contain the words, Merry and Thankful.  The tiny heart inside the 'o' was cut out from the Owl Punch from a piece of scrap paper (I throw nothing away).

In order for the 'love' cut from tempting turquoise cardstock to stand out… I cut out the middle of the Tea Lace Paper Doily with fifth circle from the Circles Collection Framelits Dies.

I also added a tiny bit of sparkle from a piece of Silver Glimmer paper* to add just a bit of sparkle.  I later colored it red and it looked better, I'll post the colored one on my FB page in the next day or so.

Love

*ON SALE:  Silver Glimmer paper only $3.71 (regular price $4.95)
