Buenos Pensamientos… Good Thoughts

Good Thoughts

I hope by now you have seen the versatility with the Blessed Easter stamp.  It has, hands down, become my favorite Spring stamp since making the tulips behind the fence.  If you didn’t get to see it…click here.

Good Thoughts

Lesson Learned:  Don’t be afraid to add a darker color when picking out Spring colors.  After I created the quick & easy layout I felt like something was missing… and I wanted to add a small pop of color.  Would you believe that the chocolate chip card stock was a tiny piece that was left over from a different project!?  Don’t be afraid to add a darker color when added tiny details.

Friendship

I want to take this moment to tell you about the Circle of Pals.  We are a group of crafters who enjoy not just in-person friendships, but also a true virtual connection.  Click here to find out what makes us special.

While you’re at it, take the time to read more about me… it’s me in a nut shell and I would love for you to get to know me even more.  On top of what you read… you will get to know how deep my passions for card-making.

It’s important for you to know that I offer a no pressure membership into the Circle of Pals.  I’m all about SAVING you money and suggesting how to MAXIMIZE product for less money.  Something you will NOT find elsewhere.

While I’m at it… I’d like to give Amy J., Michelle C., and Donna L. a very warm SHOUT OUT and WELCOME to the Circle of Pals!  You have made a wise choice… I promise you that your lives are about to become much sweeter than it already was!  You have just joined a Stampin’ Up! group that is bigger than anything you have ever dreamed of.

Stampin’ Up! Some Monkey Business

Hello

My #1 goal as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is to teach others that creativity is not a requirement to make simple handmade cards.  This card is actually massed produced and handed out to people I meet at work, while shopping, or out to dinner.

Now when I say mass-produced these cards, I mean that the images are already stamped on, but the sequence and ribbon are not yet adhered.  That part is left to the person who receives it as lesson one to my intro card making class.  Baby steps… lol.

Want to learn more?  Sign up for my monthly class.  Already a card-maker?  Come to my monthly stamp camps or sign up for the Shoebox Card Share.  Want a girls night out with your girlfriends… give me the date.  Want a one-on-one… just let me know.

Fourtieth Birthday

Birthday

Stamping doesn’t always have to include a sentiment.  Numbers work just as well when you want them to highlight a special milestone… like turning 40!

You could be wondering what the bee means and it can mean a lot of things… like Queen Bee turns 40, or someone bee forty… LOL.  Either way you look at it, it can mean anything you want it to bee… LoL.

Birthday

I taught a beginner’s card making class tonight and I had so much fun doing it.  Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would love teaching so much.  If you live anywhere near Solano County look me up and join my fun classes, host a workshop, or email me and we’ll get together for a private class!

Cycling a Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

This is NOT a last minute birthday card, but you know what!?  When I made it last week, I whipped it out in no time at all.  It’s always a very good idea to be able to pull a card sketch out of your back pocket for those “oh em gee” moments when you realized you need a card in a hurry.

Do you have a go to Designer Series Paper, stamp, or framelits for those uh oh moments?

Happy Birthday

Lesson Learned: I didn’t have the background Everything Eleanor stamped image in a framelit, but just I did happen to have the smaller framelit version (one of my favorites) and so all I did was trim it with my paper snips.  They look perfect together and the White Stazon brings out the richness of the dark Elegant Eggplant cardstock… almost antique looking.

Bee Mine

Valentine's DayI have seen many variations of this card, but the one is mine.  I have loved the nesting framelits we have and the hearts are my all time favorite.

The cut outs remind of the times when I was in grade school and I would hold a piece of paper in half and use my thumb as a guide to make a heart cut out.  Did you ever do that?

What a great memory… I’m just glad I can now use Stampin’ Up!’s heart framelits and get a perfect cut out each and every time! =)

Valentine's DayI performed just a wee bit of tape surgery on the bee to separate it from the word “mine.”  I do not own the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Marker, so I had to tape up the heart while stamping it with the ink pad.

The Real Red Stampin’ Marker was used to line in the heart.  Adding a rhinestone finished it off.  Quick and Easy card, yet classy and perfect for your perfect Valentine.

My Paper Pumpkin

I have already ordered My Paper Pumpkin for February and since I saw with my own eyes what the kit looks like I’m beyond excited to be getting it in the mail today.  I will put a least one card together and show it to you soon.

Products you’ll need to make this card:

Two of a Kind in Hybrid

MDS HybridMDS Hybrid

It’s fraternal two of a kind in hybrid using My Digital Studio (MDS)!  Two reasons why I used MDS to make these quick & easy cards.  1)  I do NOT feel intimidated by digital card making.  2) You can print from your home printer and add a couple of cute buttons (or ribbon) and turn it into a hybrid card.

I’m sure you can see the difference (real quick) in these two cards.  No, the angle the pictures were taken is not what I’m talking about… LOL.  I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the card on th right just to show you what you can do.

So, go on and get your groove on with a free trial of My Digital Studio.  Click here to get it now.  Those of you who signed up to receive the free template… it’s already  in your inbox.  You can still sign up here.

Happy New Year Cards

This year I felt as if Christmas snuck up on me and I didn't make enough Christmas cards to send out.  I made two additional batches and still ran out of them!

I knew the Christmas cards wouldn't arrive in time, so I decided on Happy New Year cards.  I made them quick and easy and began mailing them out today.

Happy New Year3

Card one is clean and simple with whisper white on whisper white cardstock.  I used the Northern Flurry embossing folder on all three versions of my card to give it a soft & subtle texture.

NY2

With this one I changed up the card base with Island Indigo cardstock and added Island Indigo 3/4" Chevron ribbon.

Happy New Year1

Finally, my third card with a card base color change using Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Maybe you too can make these if you missed a few people on your card list.  It took me 15 minutes to make 30 cards… yippee!!!

Don't pass up the opportunity to win FREE Stampin' Up! product from me here.

Is it too early to start thinking of Valentine's Day?

Merriest Wishes to You

I've been trying to keep up with my blog since returning home from overseas and I must confess that I'm having a tough time.  Everyday something fascinating happens to me and I tell myself, "you must share this with your blog visitors!"

Then something happens once I get home… My thoughts become jumbled (is that even a word) and they overwhelm me.  I feel as if you will not feel the same excitement I did when I write it (am I going bananas?)… LOL.

As I start to re-live the excitement, I feel like I'm writing way too much (like right now).  So let me get to  my quick & easy cards I made after I ran out of my batch of original Christmas cards.

Christmas

I used most of my left over scraps to make these cards because as you know I throw nothing away. The Tag It stamp set was perfect too!  I stamped the tag twice… first with basic black ink and then real red ink.

I then punch Santa Clause with the Curly Label punch.  I love anything with a 3-D effect.

CONGRATULATIONS

Jennifer G.

You won the This and That Epic Day Journal I posted in the Congratulations on Your Wedding post!

Christmas

Now, I'm going to tell you about an amazing lady I had the pleasure of meeting last week.  Her name is Linda (her real name too… LOL) and it's amazing how I met her, but I'll save that story for another day.

I was simply picking up a handmade pen a friend of her husband made for me (does that make sense)… one thing led to another and we sat and drank coffee and chatted up a thunderstorm for a little over three hours!

It was met to be and I made a new crafting friend… I'm still giddy from her friendship.  I accidently dropped my identification card in her living room and I had to swing back and pick it up (I wonder if it was really an accident or just an excuse to go back and chat some more)… LOL.

Linda even made me cookies when I returned to pick up my ID card… I'm so thankful and blessed to have made a new friend!

Christmas Messages with Joyful Tidings

Christmas

One of just a few clean & simple Christmas cards for some very lucky people.  I designed this card more than a month ago and I only made 20 of them.  All my Christmas will be quick and easy for you to recreate.

As a matter of fact, they were all cut and stamped while I was deployed.  They were all ready to go and I carried them in my backpack because I thought I would stamp on my way home… on the plane.

Then a week before my homecoming, I hurt my lower back and was hardly able to move, much less enjoy some stamping while flying the friendly skies.

After reintegrating with family, friends, work, and starting my recovery with physical therapy… I put all 20 cards together.  They are now ready to be written in and put in the mail.

Christmas

There is so much going on in preparation for the new year… take a look at what already here now and get ready ahead of time…. click here now!

My questions to you today is… have you finished making your Christmas cards?  I can't wait to read your comments.
