Change Up the Pumpkin

The picture below includes my own stamp set, ink, and sequence.  It is not included with the kit.  The kit has the cards, boxes, and different stamp set as seen in the video below.

My Paper Pumpkin

The month’s paper pumpkin is one of my personal favorites!  Stampin’ Up! has truly stepped it up and made the monthly kit F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.    I love being a little different so I changed it up just a tiny bit and used a different stamp set on the tag.  The card I kept it the same as the kit card.

These kits are great for all levels of crafters.  Beginners love them because everything you need is in the box (ink, paper, stamp set, adhesive, and all items are pre-cut), advanced crafters love it for the same reason as the beginner, but they get to give it their own personal touch.  It also comes straight to your door, each month.  You can cancel at any time and there are no obligations.

This is July’s fabulous kit and I’ve already had a sneak peak for August and I can’t wait to get it.

Impromptu My Paper Pumpkin

As you know, I’m in Los Angeles visiting family and so is one-quarter of my stamp room… LOL.  Thank goodness I brought some extra My Paper Pumpkin kits too!

My two beautiful nieces wanted to know what the hype was all about… and they decided to rename the kit… My Way with Paper Pumpkin.

They do not have blogs, so please show them love by leaving a comment about their unique kit cards made their way.

My Paper Pumpkin My Way

Jessica decided she didn’t want to use the photopolymer set that came with the kit, but instead substituted it with the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set.  This is the best thing I absolutely love about My Paper Pumpkin… you can use any stamp set may already have.  Everything goes well together!

My Paper Pumpkin My Way

This is Veronica and this is her first time ever making a handmade card.  I think she’s hooked.  She went a little crazy on the arrows, but this is her own version of the card and she even “borrowed” an extra gold glitter sticker from her cousin. LOL.

The coolest thing the impromptu card class with My Paper Pumpkin tonight is that my nieces will now be able to pre-pay their subscriptions.  How exciting is that!  These pre-paid kits also make the PERFECT gift!

Contact me today about getting your pre-paid kit and do what my two nieces did and make them your own!

Please leave a comment below… tell Jessica & Veronica what you think of their individuality?

If you could pass this post along to at least one friend
who would love to make a kit card, I know they would appreciate it!

The whole purpose of this blog is to share my simple handmade cards & projects with as many people as possible and I need your help, will please share it?

Thank You My Paper Pumpkin

TY MPP

There are two simple words that show you are grateful for what was done or given to you.  I often like to say, “There are not enough thank you’s in the world to show you my gratitude.”

So, today I say THANK YOU to you… my friend!  Thank you for signing up to follow My Paper Journey.  I’ve been at this for two years and I have learned so much from you and the blog.  If you haven’t signed up you can click right here and sign up now.

TY MPP

The card is an upscaled version of March’s My Paper Pumpkin and if you haven’t signed up to get the monthly kit delivered straight to your door step all I can say is your missing out on some fantastic kits.  If you missed the orignal kit card, you can find the original right here.

Lesson Learned:  You can take an original design and change it up a bit to make it your own.  With this card I used the same elements that came with the kit… the wooden ‘thank you’ die cut and the arrow stamp.

To make it my own I stamped the die cut in Silver Metallic ink with sponge daubers.  Then I embossed the arrow stamp with Silver embossing powder to give it texture.

Finally, to mimic the original card I used the flower punch that comes with the Punch Pack to give it a sparkle finish.

Already Miss You!

Miss You

I made this card over three weeks ago, but decided I couldn’t post it then because something was missing.  With there being no mistakes in crafting I held on to it until the time was right… and today is that time.  What was wrong and what did I do?

The left side of the Very Vanilla cardstock seems to empty.  So, I drew a line across the bottom with a real red and placed polka dots alongside the ‘see ya later’ stamp with basic black.  It filled in the empty ‘white space’ that was bugging me for weeks… LoL.

Miss You

Lesson Learned: When you think something is missing don’t be afraid to draw lines.  Use a ruler to keep them as straight as possible.

Saleabration Free ProductsYou’ve got exactly two weeks left until the end of Sale-a-bration!  I think I’ve got pretty much one of everything, so if you want a quick workshop before time runs send me a message here.  Don’t let time pass you by!

Hola Tarjeta Masculina

Hola/HiPara leer en español, haga clic en la bandera de España en el lado derecho.

I know that as card-makers we tend to make more girly/feminine type cards.  Guys are not into rhinestones, pearls, or ribbon, so we tend to shy away from making them until we absolutely need them.  In honor of all the men in our lives, I have started posting a masculine card at least once a week (if you haven’t noticed by now)… LOL.  You can find last weeks card here. Hola/Hi When designing a masculine card you do not need to continually utilize dark colors.  But you do need to throw in there the macho nacho feel.  Having been raised in a Latino household I know too well the machismo that comes with the male gender.  In all honesty, the Latin men in my life are macho nacho on the outside, but teddy bears on the inside… LOL.  Go on and don’t forget to add a pop of soft color to lighten up this perfect designer series paper for a personalized card for the men in your life. Hola/Hi I’m putting out a call out for local area (Solano County) interested crafters.  I’m offering FREE beginner card-making classes the first Thursday of every month.  But you must sign up here.  I want to ensure I have enough supplies ready for you to learn this fun hobby. You will leave with your own handmade card and will understand the simple creativity of paper crafting.  Learn the paper basics while having fun in a completely relaxed environment. O2_NA-PaperPumpkin_olo_01112014-02102014I am on fire (not literally) for My Paper Pumpkin.  It’s like that hair commerical… I’m not just the owner, I’m a client! This little magical treasure contains everything you need… stamps, ink, paper, and accessories for a quick get-a-way… a thousand times better than Calgon… that’s a guarnantee!  Subscribe today and also recieve a set of markers (valued at $14.95). It’s not a permanent subscription either.  You can start and stop anytime you choose.  But hurry you only have until the end of this month to get your FREE markers.

I would love for you to help me help you.  I want to give someone FREE Stampin' Up! product aka blog candy.  I'm happiest when you are happy and since I love making cards, I want you to experience the same happiness.

When people first meet me they think one of three things:1) she's a little nutty, 2) she loves making cards, or 3) wow, she's a nutty card maker.  Would you love to have what I'm having?  This post is your chance!

Let me tell you about this card and then you can help me… Keep Calm and Read On.

Christmas

Can you believe that I still have quite a few boxes of My Paper Pumpkin kits laying around!?  To my surprise I found this kit and quickly put them together.  But I think I'm going to need more.

The picture really does not do the card justice.  The actual card is so bright and cheery… I just love it.  If you stare at the red stripes the card appears to be moving as the pattern plays a trick on your eyes.

To enter to win the My Paper Pumpkin Memo Medley Kit (October) all you have to do is answer this question in the comment area below:

Did you have a holiday tradition either growing up or did you start one?

Growing up my parents had a big birthday party to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve.  Family and friends dropped by throughout the night and ate tamales, posole, buñuelos, and so much other types of dishes that you better had showed up hungry.

At midnight we sang happy birthday to the Baby Jesus in Spanish and a piñata would be brought out for the kids to break apart.  Candy fell out everywhere and it was so much fun.

You're thinking "at midnight!?"  Eeeeek!  Yup we stayed up until the wee hours of the morning.  On Christmas day we pretty slept all day.  Those sure were such beautiful memories that will live in my heart forever.

Winner will be announced Friday., December 27th.

A Birthday Wish (RemberingYour Birthday)

A Birthday Wish (Remembering Your Birthday)

I know how easy it is to forget somebody's birthday and that is why I believe we should celebrate birthdays for a whole month… agree?  Anyone can send a birthday e-card, but what means the most is sending a handmade birthday card!

Often the card itself is a part of the gift.  Especially when the flowers you put on them make the card jump in 3D.  Now you know, this card is a keeper for years to come and the special day will never be forgotten.

I always try to use the favorite colors of the person I make my cards for.  This way, it will be even more extra special to them.  You tell me, would it be easy to throw away this colorful cheerful card?

Seriously… Love Your Guts

This card kit, you cannot buy.  Why?  Because it was April’s My Paper Pumpkin monthly kit.  I changed it up just a tiny little bit and made it my own instead of the layout Stampin’ Up! suggested.  It was a God-send yesterday because after going to the gym after work I was too tired to get out and play bingo.

So, instead I stayed in my room and made my monthly card kit.  Our dorms have no windows and I really do hate staying in my room, but this night I wanted time to myself and create some cards in a way that took be back to my stamp room, minus the windows… LoL.

I posted on my Facebook the other day, that for the first time I felt homesick in the first month that I’ve been deployed.  But I must admit, when I started putting my cards together, I felt so much better.

You literally only have until TODAY to get $155 in product for only $99.  I am looking for Stampin’ Up! Pals I can add to the private virtual stamp club I belong too.  I always forget that not everyone can view what we talk about or design unless you’re a Pal.  I have become friends with some men & women who live all over the United States.  They send me cards and I post them on our virtual club, and I wish I could share them with you, but you must be a Pal to be in this exclusive club.

So click HERE to join today and get all of your supplies without any further obligation ever!  It all ends tomorrow, Fri., May 31st.  Will you be my Pal?

Earth Day Number Two

ACTIVITING THE PAPER PUMPKIN PLAYERS
Winner will be announced on or about April 15th (Don’t forget to mail your taxes).

Recycle Mom Day1

Hello there, if you are here looking for the Pals Blog Hop: Earth Day is Everyday, don’t worry you’ll find it on yesterday’s post… LoL.  These are more cards using recycled left over paper from other cards I’ve made.  I do not have the innate ability to color match, but after viewing all thepretty left over paper, I didn’t think it mattered.  The colors remind me of Spring and it has sprung… LoL.

I made my own mom a special Mother’s Day card that I will preview some time this week…. and I can’t wait to show it to you because like these cards…. I also used my stash of paper.  Do you keep your scarps of paper in a box all thrown together or neatly separated and labeled?  how do you think I keep mine?  Hmmm… maybe I’ll show you pictures next time too… LoL

Happy Mother's Day2

If you’re wondering about the crinkled leaves… I used a retired Stampin’ Up! product, a Crimper.  I folded the leaves in half length wise and pulled it through.  They give the leaves a beautiful embossed real leaf look… don’t you agree?
