A Cute Mother’s Day Flower Vase

Happy Mother's Day Frame

This card was initially created for the Can You Case It sketch challenge from yesterday, but as I worked on it, it morphed into this and I couldn’t be happier with it.  As a matter of fact, I loved making the frame so much with the Chalk Lines photopolymer stamp set that I made several frames with different colors, sizes, and shapes.

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations.

  • Experiment with your product.  You just never know what you’ll come up with.  This card started off as a sketch challenge card and it quickly morphed into a Mother’s Day Vase card. I experimented with several stamp sets and stamped over 15 times until the lightbulb came on. I began cutting paper to make the perfect 45 degree angles on the frame, but it turned out I could stamp a frame just as good, but easier with two strips of sticky notes. HA! Who would’ve thought to do that…it was just too easy.
  • Single vase.  To single out the vase with the tulip I used Tempting Turquiose, Real Red, and Old Olive to color in just that one vase. I huffed on it to moisten the ink with my peppermint breath and stamped it…that easy.  *Peppermint not required, but your stamp will love it.
  • Show Me How Video.  I’m working on the video now to show you how simple it was to show you how I made the frame. So come on by tomorrow to see how you too can make the photo-frame too.

New Catalog Coming:  Anyone who has ordered from me in the last year will automatically receive the fun packed new catalog. I’ve already seen it and my list already has 75 stamp sets on it.  This year I’ll have to pace myself (LOL).

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas You Can Make with CYCI #67

Mother's Day 1CCThis week’s Can You Case It Challenge is for Mother’s Day gifts and I have three to share with you today. I have to admit that I miss our Blendabilities so much, but until another set of alcohol based markers are found…I’ll stick close to my Stampin’ Write Markers. My friend Nicole gave me a really cute card that she (a newbie in card-making) made using our markers. I thought, “Hey, if she can do it, so can I!” If you missed that post, you can see it here.

Mother's Day 2CCThis card is for my mom’s who are koo koo for CoCo Chanel. I would love to have a Chanel purse, but when I think of spending that kind of cash on a purse…my mind converts it into Stampin’ Up! product. I think I’d rather buy product and make Chanel inspired crafts. LOL.

Mother's Day 3CC

The purse is so very easy to make and I initially saw it on a post made by one of my Pals. If you want to make one yourself, it is the easiest purse I’ve ever made. Please try it, I know you’re going to love making them for Mother’s Day.

You’re going to be so addicted to making these too cute for words purses, watch!

OSAT Blog Hop – Mother’s Day

OSAT Hop Button

This is my second post today and I hope that you continue to scroll down to view my first post. It’s strange, but the card below this one is how I feel right at this moment.

Mother's Day Spanish

First, let me Thank You for you support. This blog isn’t possible without you my readers. A few days ago I was invited to participate in One Stamp At a Time’s monthly blog hop where we were to create Mother’s Day projects. You may have been directed here from Diane at Stamp and Embellish. Now on to the fun with some awesome Mother’s Day cards & project.

I’m not usually a flower person, but my mom and mom-in-law are and since I earned the Bouquet Bigz L Die I just had to try it out for the first time. You wouldn’t believe how easy it is to make these gorgeous flowers, the pictures don’t give them any justice.

Mother's Day Spanish

My mom-in-law lives two states across from me, so I’ll be mailing her the card, but I’ll be near my mom and I’ll be putting some cash in the Chevron Bag. I’m not worried about either of them getting a peek at their gifts because they don’t follow my blog and they don’t have computers.

Thank you so much for joining us on the OSAT Blog Hop and please continue on with the one and only fantabulous (fantastic & fabulous) Wynne at My Craft Side.

Mother’s Day Card with Spiral Flowers

Mother's Day

If you haven’t made your Mother’s Day cards this Rosette flower card is the easiest fastest card you can make!  It was so delightful to make it that I showed it to a friend at work and he asked if I could make him two!  I knew I could whip them out so fast, I agreed to make him the cards.

Mother's Day

I had some old flower tape lying around that I had received from a friend who was going to throw it away and I figured I’d use it someday and that someday came with this card.  I’m not a hoarder, but sometimes I keep things because they are practical and I will incorporate it into my craft.

I wrapped sucker sticks in the flower tape to make it look like stems.  If you don’t have any, just take some twigs from a tree in your neighbors yard…LOL.

Mother's Day

My only suggestion to anyone who hasn’t made their Mother’s Day cards… print this one out or forward it to the mom you had every intention of sending them a Mother’s Day card. =)  SHARE the love.

Feliz Dia De La Madre

Today I received my gorilla box with items like shampoo, hairspray, my blanket and pillow, and my Hello Kitty hamper.  It took two weeks and two days to arrive.  It’s amazing the simple things we take for granted.  In the box also came the last two things I was waiting on to start making cards.  Can you guess what just one of them is?

If you follow my Facebook page you can get a peak of what had arrived the first week.  Leave a comment below this post and enter to win some blog candy!  Yes, all the way from my deployed location.  You will receive bunches of my Designer Series Paper from the 2012 catalog.  Don’t have your new 2013-14 catalog yet?  Get one here.

For a chance to win it, I’m going to give you about a week to leave a comment and tell me the furthest place you’ve ever sent a card… from where you live.  =)

Dia de Madre3

I made this one and only card for my ama.  I am blessed and I am lucky.  Blessed because my mom is still with me and lucky because God could not have picked a better mom to loan me to.  My five brothers were a handful and I was her peaceful obedient child.  Don’t believe me… ask her!  LBMO.  Mi mama es la major mama en todo el mundo!

Earth Day Number Two

ACTIVITING THE PAPER PUMPKIN PLAYERS
Winner will be announced on or about April 15th (Don’t forget to mail your taxes).

Recycle Mom Day1

Hello there, if you are here looking for the Pals Blog Hop: Earth Day is Everyday, don’t worry you’ll find it on yesterday’s post… LoL.  These are more cards using recycled left over paper from other cards I’ve made.  I do not have the innate ability to color match, but after viewing all thepretty left over paper, I didn’t think it mattered.  The colors remind me of Spring and it has sprung… LoL.

I made my own mom a special Mother’s Day card that I will preview some time this week…. and I can’t wait to show it to you because like these cards…. I also used my stash of paper.  Do you keep your scarps of paper in a box all thrown together or neatly separated and labeled?  how do you think I keep mine?  Hmmm… maybe I’ll show you pictures next time too… LoL

Happy Mother's Day2

If you’re wondering about the crinkled leaves… I used a retired Stampin’ Up! product, a Crimper.  I folded the leaves in half length wise and pulled it through.  They give the leaves a beautiful embossed real leaf look… don’t you agree?

DON’T FORGET!

Hurry, time is running out to sign up for Paper Pumpkin this month!  Sign up by midnight tomorrow (April 10) so you won’t miss out on any more kits.

Everyone surely won’t want to miss out on paper, stamps, and fun-we know you’re gonna love it!  Remember, each month’s kit is only available for a month at a time; go towww.mypaperpumpkin.com to sign up and don’t forget to list me as your demonstrator… Maggie Mata/Zip Code 94535.

Don’t be the one that misses out.

Pals Blog Hop: Earth Day is Every Day!

Thank you for joining us for the April Pals Blog Hop!  To celebrate Earth Day, the April blog hop  features new cards and projects that capture the essence of Earth Day through colors and images and/or use recycled or reused elements.  We hope you are ready for some fun and creative ideas. You should have just left stop number 24 on the Pals Hop – Rae Harper at Wild West Paper Arts.  If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

If you’ve ever stamped with me you know first hand that I do not throw any paper in the garbage!  Joy C., one of my Circle of Pals calls me the “Paper Police”.  She shakes and trembles (jokingly) when I catch her throwing even a 1×1″ piece of paper in the trash… LoL.  To make my card today I gathered all my used up scraps of card stock and designer series paper and used the Blossom Petals Punch (121808) to design the flower on the Mother’s Day card.

I made many more cards, but for the sake of keeping you moving along, I will post those other cards in the days to come, so come back now.

Left over scraps from various projects.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Once a year we come together to celebrate all the Mother’s who have the honor of raising the next generation.  Although these special women do their jobs year round, we come together to celebrate their hard work and dedication.  A shout out to those men out there who also take on both roles as Mother and Father.

Enjoy this beautiful Sunday and give hugs and kisses and give a heartfelt “thank you” to that lady you call “mom.”  I salute you ama.  I am who I am because of how you raised me.  I was blessed to have been sent to you as a gift from Heaven.  I love you with all my heart Gumersinda Mata.

A card is not complete without the matching purse that carries the extra t-shirts, diapers, wipes, chapstick, lotion, and countless kid supplies.

Stampin Up a Card Swap for Mother’s Day

The best thing I love about making a card is watching the recipient smile as they rip open the envelope.  Officially, English is my second language and believe me when I say that there are not enough words in the English language to tell you how EASY PEASY it is to make a handmade card.

You want to make your own card?  Card ingredients are below.  This card was made in under 15 minutes and was sent to a Stampin’ Up! card swap club I participate in once a month.  The swap is open to everyone and you can visit them on Facebook today… Click HERE.
