Happy Birthday: To A Classic Grandpa

Guy Greetings

Today’s card was custom made for a customer (Mark) in Alaska.  I even mailed it for him.  But what did the inside of it say?  Well, it was easy!  Mark texted me a written message which I printed and cut to size and adhered it to the inside.  Needless to say, anything handmade and custom is always loved.

The Perfect Rack with SIP #9

Elk Hunting

There are not enough words in the English language to describe the love I felt when I tore open my pre-ordered Stampin’ Up! goodies.  I know I’ll be ordering extra sets of this fabulous paper because I’m going to hoard it!  Also, I’ll be doing four paper share’s with the new Designer Series paper in the Holiday catalog.  More info tomorrow!

SIP 9

Today’s magnifabulous (yes, I just made up that word) card is brought to you by the number nine in this week’s Stamp Ink Paper sketch challenge.  I was seriously wow’d by the number of entries last week and I want to say that every single card was just awesome! It was so difficult to choose just one and I ended up voting so late that I almost gave myself a thousand paper-cuts as self punishment.  No, I’m kidding, but seriously I “profusely” apologize (what movie did Demi Moore use that word in?) for being late.  I’ve been in a whirlwind romance with Stampin’ Up! when I received my pre-order (one of the many perks of being a demo).

Elk Hunting

My husband is a hunter and each year he hunts Deer & Elk and today’s card was made for him.  It’s the only reason why I bought the Winter Wonderland DSP and The Wilderness Awaits stamp set.  I often joke with him and tell him not to come home without dinner….LOL.  He reads my blog, but I’ve already given him the card.  So, I’ll remind you now Mister, “Dont’ come home without dinner.” LOL

MAGGIE MADE TIPS:

  • Image Center State.  I stamped my main image (the Elk) with black Memento ink to give a clean masculine look and feel.  The deer points do not over-power the image and stand on their own with as much character as the Elk.  I see nature and food it provides for us. …and nature must be admired, respected, and loved just as the hunter. =)

August On-Line Orders.  Receive a FREE Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack Paper Share when you place an on-line order this month.  That’s 20 sheets of one each of double-sided designs in 10 colors: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, gold, Sahara Sand, silver, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack cut 6″ x 6″.  Simply place an order via my on-line store and use Host Code: BZMUS7PV.

Please do not select “No Contact” when placing your order.  Why?  Because if you do, I will not be allowed to contact you, even if you are a regular customer….and I will NOT be able to send you my FREE on-line order offers either.  Just make sure you select “YES, allow my demonstrator to contact me with order updates and other important information.”  Please know that I will never send you junk mail.

Current Catalog Paper Share.  What you will receive?  One of each of all our DSP papers cut 6″ x 6″.  Why spend over $100+ just to test them and see which is your favorite.  Get your sampler pack for only $25 with FREE shipping here.

You Are More Than Welcome to Try Us Out.  My group is mostly all hobby demo’s who join for the discount on paper-crafting supplies don’t want the commitment of holding classes or being a salesperson (yuck right)!?   I welcome these types of demo’s with Arms Wide Open, so don’t’ fear a commitment or a penalty if you sign up for the discount.  Heck, you can even team up with a friend because my team is a non-hassle, non-committment, no sales requirement team.  What does that mean?  Read it  here.

OSAT Blog Hop – Happy Father’s Day

OSAT Hop Button Father's Day My Soldier

“There are many brave Soldiers, but this one is mine!”

Good Day my sweet stampin’ friends…you may have hopped here from Andrea Pancrazio’s awesome project and I urge you to Keep Calm and Hop On (LoL).  If you tuned in from Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge don’t worry the post wasn’t abducted by aliens, it’s right below this post.  Before scrolling on down, why don’t ya check out “One Stamp at a Time” (OSAT) Father’s Day/Masculine blog hop for June.  This hop was created by none other than the Super Power Paper Ninja, Andrea Tracy Tucker at One Stampin’ Mother Tucker and I’m still in awe by the team’s extra-ordinary talent.

Father's Day My Soldier

The next stop Kim Smith of Crafting Buddy on the OSAT Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you on next month!

MAGGIE MADE TIPS:

  • Don’t Spill Your Coffee.   All I’m going to say about this is, “keep a lid on it!”  Just because I now work from home doesn’t mean that I can leave an open coffee cup on my craft desk.  Enough said! (LoL)
  • Add Dimension.  When your image is flat and you want to add color or dimension all you have to do is stamp the image on a different piece of yardstick or designer series paper and cut it out close to the lines and adhere it to the image with dimensional.
  • Printed Sentiment.  Nope, it’s not a stamp set.  It’s the Marine’s Corp’s Riffleman’s Creed.  The first line goes like this, “This is my rifle.  There are many like it, but this one is mine.”  That’s when it hit me……as I was exploring which stamp set to use and I saw G.I. Joe in his cute little parachute.

JUNE ON-LINE ORDERS: Receive a sample (one of each) Expressions Natural Elements when you place an order via my on-line store and use Host Code: 7XAYE9K4

NO CONTACT – What it really means.  When you select “No Contact” when you place your on-line order it literally means, “Don’t tell Maggie I placed an order.”  I will not be told who  you are and can’t send you the free product samples.  I would love for you to instead check-mark, “YES, allow my demonstrator to contact me with order updates and other important information.”  Please know that I will never send you junk mail. I want to show you how much I truly appreciate your business.

Never Enough Bow-Ties

Father's Day

Do I dare say, “I love bow-ties?” LOL…not Origami, but still represents a Dad or Orville Redenbacher.

MAGGIE MADE TIPS:

  • Change it up.  The DSP has a diagonal cut and then cut again on the lower right to offset the stripes.  Look again and you’ll see what I’m talking about.  Why did I do it?  Just to be different.
  • Glue Dots.  The hidden adhesive behind those clear buttons. It’s important to have different types of adhesive in your drawer because they all have a purpose.  Fast Fuse works wonder on ribbon too.  It’s strong and light weight without creating a bulky appearance.

Occasions Catalog Ends This Weekend:  So often I hear these words, “Darn it, I knew I should’ve ordered it!”  Then depending on how bad you want it…you’re gonna pay a little more and I know eBay prices is NOT what you want to pay.  I highly recommend that you take one last look at the 2015 Occasions Catalog and order what you really desire.

Creative Thinking.  The other night I thought and thought and then it came to me…how to pretty much earn a FREE membership. Join me for a 15 minute webinar to find out how to take Stampin’ Up! out for a test drive for free or just a couple dollars.  This is only for non-demonstrators who do not have a Demonstrator and desire to join my Circle of Pals team. Take Me Out To the Ball Game

Last weekend I was invited to participate in a local fundraiser in support of our local Little League Club.  I made a few baseball specific cards that I printed with My Digital Studio and have quite a few left over. Please feel free to browse through The Card Store to purchase.

Baseball Fear

To give the card a baseball look I used the Chevron punch and adhered the pieces in a half-moon to give it a rounded shape. I found the poem on Pinterest.

Thanks Coach

All of the coaches that take time to teach, mentor, and coach children deserve a huge “thank you.”  I played softball growing up and I remember all of us pulling our couple dollars each to buy our coach something nice to say thank you for putting with us.  Sports made me feel confident and I especially loved that my coach was also our mentor.

Congrats Homerun

In the mean time, sing along with me…”Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd;
Just buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack…”

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations.

  • Always An Occasion To Make a Card.  There is nothing in the world that is too big nor too small that doesn’t deserve a card. Especially when a child needs added encouragement if (s)he struck out during a ballgame. Most important they should know that they should never give up.
  • Show Gratitude with A Thank You.  Everyone who is involved in teaching our children valuable skills should always be thanked.  It’s a kind gesture to say we appreciate them.

RETIRING PRODUCT:  Have you seen what happens on eBay when you missed what you would’ve purchased because you knew you really wanted it?  You’ll be shocked out of your mind!  Don’t believe me, just go check it out and then come back and get it before it’s too late. See it all here.

PREFERRED STATUS: This happens to every single person who purchases from me. They earn extra little treats and getting to buy my retired stash before I open it to the public for 50 percent off. Yes, that right…my current customers will get a chance of buying anything they missed if I have it in my stock. Learn more about the kudos of Shopping With Me.

Peeping Paul……What!?

Paul Wood You Be Mine

I affectionately call the lumber jack in the Wood You Be Mine stamp set Paul as in Paul Bunyan. He is just so adorable and I love his beard. I didn’t color in his beard because this Paul is a much more mature Paul…LOL.

Wood You Be Mine

MAGGIE MADE TIPS: Not in cash, but great crafting recommendations

  • Make the focal point stand out. Initially, the lumber jack was placed on the  Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack (wood pieces), with Stampin’ Dimensionals, but he just didn’t look right. So my Circle of Pals member, Joy C. suggested I punch the paper and make Paul jump off the page. That’s exactly what I did. Thanks for your help Joy!
  • Paper Surgery. Did you notice the saw cutting off a piece of wood? To give the look of the saw cutting the wood I used an Xacto knife to trim the top half of the wood and slipped the saw underneath it and propped it up with a small piece of Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • How did I make the ring around Paul? I’m finishing up the video that shows you how and will post soon.  Sign up here to receive free blog updates and you won’t miss it.

You Are Charged…

Ben Sheriff

Every little boy I know wants to become a super hero. Everything from Batman to Ironman.

But the little boys in my (extended) family want to be a Sheriff, just like their daddy.

Well, you can Deputize them and make them feel like they are the real thing!

The six point star will certainly bring a little bit of reality in their little lives.

Let their imagination run wild as they hoop and holler looking for the bad guys.

Heck a pair of plastic handcuffs can even finish off their fantasy.

Believable Badge: Gold Colored Rhinestones

Or you can make them silver, just don’t forget to write or stamp in their name. You’re not a Deputy Sheriff until your name is etched into the badge.

Make an extra badge so they can wear it proudly as they go around arresting the family dog, cat, or little sister/brother.

The most lovable smile you will have on your face will be when you are watching your son, grandson, nephew, Godson, etc. wear his badge proudly.

Just Because

Oh My Gosh!  I’m so beside myself!  There are times when we all have to say a little good about ourselves.  I think I’ve finally found my style!!!  Wait, did I just say that!?  Yayyyyy….I’m so happy with this card and I didn’t even have to over think it!  That’s why I love sketch challenges!  Boo-ya!

Just Because

I am in LOVE with this designer series paper too!  Oh My Gosh, I keep using exclamation points all over this post!  It’s just a sign of how happy I am with the result of this card.  I’m going to share a little secret—-I often keep the cards I make because I’m afraid they aren’t going to be appreciated!

The problem with giving a greeting card is that Hallmark (my competitor) makes it easy to spend anywhere from $4.99 to $8.99 on a greeting card.  I still can’t figure out why someone would pay that!!! (yes that sentence deserves three exclamation points!)

The solution is to sign up for one of my card classes (every first and third Friday of every month) and I will teach you in under an hour!

Don’t have an hour, yet want to show someone who you care more about them then buying them an EXPENSIVE store-bought card… get a kit I tell ya!  See them here.

Kits are a win-win solution.  You pay only $1.50 per card and the kit comes with EVERYTHING you need to put it together and the recipient will love it!  Why?  Because YOU made it with your own hands!  What other way to show someone how much you care about them!!!

FMS Final 154-001

My wonderful card is brought to you by Freshly Made Sketches 154.  Isn’t it such a lovely design?  I LOVE it (but you knew that already). HAHA
