When stamping it together I wondered would mine even be somebody’s choice. The Details:

  • Easy Layout.  Stamped the leaves and flower on the matted whisper white piece with the same color matted for the sentiment. Although the flower is just as beautiful without color, the added color makes it more bright against the white background and uncolored leaves.
  • Embellished with Basic Peals and Sequin. The tiny pearls resemble the seeds that often fall from with the flower as it blooms and causes sneezing to those with seasonal allergies (LOL).  But do we care? We sure don’t because these flowers are stamped and are no cause for alarm…HA!

I’m bit old-fashion and I love making cards that show others how you feel about them.  It’s the perfect to bring Maya Angelou’s famous quote to life…”I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  I miss her words of wisdom so very much.

  • My Own Background. I wanted to stick to three colors (red, white, and black) and because Everyday Chick DSP didn’t have what I wanted…I made my own.  I used the dot arrow shape in the Perfect Pennants clear mount stamp set with Real Red Ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I love the versatility of our stamps.

Know What I love

Know what I love?  Besides stamping?  I love my life, I love my PALS, I love the fact that I love…LOL.  With that said, Know what I love?  I love that I belong to a Design Team that uplifts our creativity and pushes me to never stop learning my craft.

Highlights:

  • Stamping without color. No one ever said stamping had to have color and a simple outline with one color image is all that’s needed.  I’m a simple stamper and although I enjoy coloring, some images just look nice without it.  Do you have a preference?
  • Banner shape with circular edges.  To make th banner across the stamped circle I adhered the stamped banner on top of the image and ran it through the Big Shot at the same time with the circular framelits.  It’ll cut two pieces of cardstock without a hitch.  Have you ever tried it?

Wood, Cork, Felt…What Will It Be?

Today’s card is for the Stamp Ink Paper challenge and made with a very special friend in mind.  It’s not your typical condolence card, but it was the only way I could express seeding the biggest tightest hug to a very good friend who had a loss in her family.  We all hate making these types of card, but they are very necessary to show that we love and care for people in our lives.

I choose wood for the background of my card because it was the only stamp that I had and I love natural hard wood finish.

  • Unintentional border:  The world has no borders, but I made an unintentional one with the oversized Circle framelits.  If you don’t like to fussy-cut, like me, the framelits and/or punches can make a “just the right size” border for your image.  It may not work with every stamp, but the rounds and squares are perfect!

Ready to Be Mine?

WoW, my favorite two weeks of the year are here and I’m loving every moment of it.  Everything kicks off with a Christmas Eve dinner party.  My hubby, the Chef prepares the traditional King Crab Leg along with so much more as family & friends come over to feast with us.  I’ll be checking out this week’s  Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge after dinner.

Growing up my mom used to say to me, “El corazon no manda.”  Meaning, the heart doesn’t tell us what to do.  I never knew what she meant by it until I fell in love.  I also used to hear people say, “Love is blind.”  I never knew what that meant either. LOL…until you guessed it, until I fell in love.  This card is dedicated to my mom who taught us that Love is universal and our hearts is what we love with.  Love you mom.

Butterfly in Flight

Todays card shows you my two favorite In-Colors, Delightful Dijon and Watermelon Wonder.  My blog logo is a butterfly and it’s the only reason I used the Butterfly framelit with Delightful Dijon card stock….my two favorite things.  The sentiment came from Watercolor Wings Stamp Set and it’s another favorite of mine too.  I chose this sentiment because yesterday my husband had surgery on his skull and as I sat in the waiting room I began to think about all the little things he does for me.  He brings me Twinkie’s when he goes grocery shopping and he brings me snacks and drinks when I’m in my craft room.  It’s the little moments like those that matter  a lot to me.  Hence, the reason I used this sentiment!  In case you’re wondering, his surgery was a success.
