Anything But a Card!

2016badge-watermelon

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for November 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects feature items that are considered 3D, Home Décor or Gift Sets. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Frame

My project consists of a special frame for a family member who went through a rough patch recently.  I put it in a frame and not a card because the sentiment is something I want her to see everyday.  Where did I get the frame?  It’s from an old Paper Pumpkin monthly kit that was used for Mother’s Day.  I love it because I have recycled it many times.  314-1

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Oh-em-Gee!!! You are going to flip when you see the stamp set that matches.  You’re going to save a bundle when you pair it with the bundle (LOL).

Way Back Wednesday with the Puppies

Puppies Dogs

I’ve decided to call today “Way Back Wednesday”. Why? Because I used a set of stamps I borrowed from a friend that are from Way Back and it just happens to be Wednesday (LOL).  Throwback Thursday is tomorrow and since it’ll be Pals Paper Arts challenge day, I just didn’t want to wait two days to show these cute little puppies to you.  I mean, I finally got a little break from my custom made orders that I figured I better get back on track.

324.1

These cards aren’t to make some of you that wish you owned this set jealous.  It’s just to show you the cards I made for a craft fair/fundraiser that took place last Saturday at the local SPCA.  I fussy cut the fire-hydrant above and the sleep pup with dog house below to give them both a little bit of 3-D feel to them.

325.1

I didn’t just make these three designs, I included a few “I’m sorry for your loss” cards for those that have lost their family pet.  Those sold out pretty quickly.  Yesterday, I was a little surprised to open my email and find an invitation to the City of Vacaville’s Pooch Parade & Howl-O-Ween event on October 31st.

October On-Line Orders.  Receive one sheet of each design (total of three) of the Holiday’s Fancy Foil Designer Vellum when you place an on-line order this month.  Simply place an order via my on-line store and use Host Code: E3X9E4SK

Please do not select “No Contact” when placing your order.  Why?  Because if you do, I will not be allowed to contact you, even if you are a regular customer….and I will NOT be able to send you my FREE on-line order offers either.  Just make sure you select “YES, allow my demonstrator to contact me with order updates and other important information.”  Please know that I will never send you junk mail.

You Are More Than Welcome to Try Us Out.  My group is mostly all hobby demo’s who join for the discount on paper-crafting supplies don’t want the commitment of holding classes or being a salesperson (yuck right)!?   I welcome these types of demo’s with Arms Wide Open, so don’t fear a committment or a penalty if you sign up for the discount.  Heck, you can even team up with a friend because my team is a non-hassle, non-committment, no sales requirement team.  What does that mean?  Read it  here.

Stampin’ Up! Product Recipe:

Nothin’ But Hugs

My Pals never cease to amaze me!  Especially when the cards they send have been posted on their blogs! I know how special one feels when a card arrives in the mail that was made for a blog. That’s why I also LOVE to send them.

Thinking of You

This cute little down under Koala Bear is so darn cute and it was perfect for me because as a child my favorite zoo animal was the Koala Bear.

Get Well

Many of you know who Mary Fish is.  She is the rock star of Stampin’ Up! and my upline.  She definitely made me feel special when I got this card in the mail.  She is simply amazing and I am so happy to call her my friend.

More Hugs

Maria

You can NOT deny that this is just the cutest card ever! I couldn’t help but feel so loved by my Pals when I opened this card.

My sweet Circle of Pals Maria R. one of my down-line sent this sweet thing wishing me well wishes. Maria is a hobby demonstrator who joined Stampin’ Up! just for the discount.  Anyone can join for any reason for as long as they want, no questions asked and you can learn more about it here.

Just Because

This second card was sent by one of my favorite Pretty Pals, Frances.  I say one of my favorite Pals because honestly I’ve lost count of how many I really have.  There are over 300+ plus of us and after a while it’s hard to keep track… LOL.

What I can tell you is that the friendships I have made are out of this world. Pals live all over the United States and we communicate virtually through email, a private Facebook page, and webinars.

Anyone can become a Pal and you can find out pretty much anything about us right here.

Feeling the Love

photo

Since I’ve been homebound in recovery mode, card-making has taken a back seat.  I made a handful of cards prior to my surgery and since then I’ve received some cards from my Pals and friends.

Wow, do I feel the love. This is what card-making is all about.  Sending them to loved one’s and friends who can use a pick me up. If I could only describe how good I feel when getting something special in the mail besides a bill. (LOL)

Just Because

This very sweet one was given to me by my friend Rose. I met Rose last year through a referral program sponsored through my up-line where we find local Pals.  We communicated on-line and after I returned from deployment she came over for my shoebox card swap. She’s been my friend ever since and I truly enjoy her friendship.

Again, the friends I’ve made in the last three years are priceless. Learn more about my Circle of Pals here. Get your card-making on and be on the look out for my next post because I’ve got more cards to show you that I’m so excited about.  They are so darn cute, just like little kittens.

Owl Feel Better Soon (Express Yourself)

Owl Get Better (Express Yourself)

C'mon… you have to admit that the Owl punch stamp is one of the most cutest punch of the bunch in Stampin' Up!'s inventory.  It has so many uses, I don't think you can name them all.  I made my owl a nurse in this get well card.

Owl Feel Better Soon (Express Yourself)

I made the old-fashioned nurses hat by but the body vest in Whisper White cardstock, cutting the top half and then stamping the red cross from the ambulance in the You're My Hero stamps set.  I punched a heart in Real Red with our small heart punch and then punched another heart with the tiny heart from the Owl Punch.  Too cute!

Wood You Get Better… Quick

My administrative tech became ill a few days ago and I felt so horrible for him, so to help brighten his day, I made him a quick and easy get well card.  I used the Woodgrain background stamp… yes I love it so much I brought it with me.

I thought I’d be funny and on the inside I wrote, “Wood you please get better. =)”  Being a guy I didn’t want to make it a foo-foo card and the woodgrain background made it perfectly masculine!  Woot woot!

This stamp gives any project that natural wooded look without having to sacrifice a tree… LoL

A quick paper punches with the Modern Label and Window punch made my card complete!  Oh and my tech was much better today.  He’s back and work and I must now let him know how much he is appreciated!  Thank you so much for visiting my paper journey.

Until the next post…

Recover Rapidly from Free Stamp Sets!

Throughout SaleABration (now until March 22nd) I’m going to post all the FREE stamp sets I received with every $50 dollar order I made.  The cute band-aid came from the Patterned Occasions set.  You can’t buy it, but you can get it for FREE!

My full-time job is at a major medical center and I would love to have a band-aid for each one of our patients.  Some patients receive my blog updates via email, so in a sense, I am giving them this card in hopes that they get better.

I wrapped a few loops of Lucky Limeade Baker’s Twine because I don’t think I use it enough.  Remember, buy only items you know will use.  Don’t let any product collect dust.

Never throw away your left over scraps.  Why?  Because you can always use them on other projects… trust me.  I had this little red heart left over from a Valentine card and just look how it beautifully stands out… don’t you think?
Friends, I have nine weeks left before I deploy… I’m using weeks because it gives me a sense of a longer time with my family and craft room.  LoL.  I mean really, January is pretty much over and I’m having crafting withdraw already… LoL.

Here’s the challenge I have given myself:

  1. Share the joy I get out of making cards and introduce you to hundreds of pals who share the same passion.
  2. Add new pals to my circle (before I deploy) and tell everyone about the discounts & benefits I cherish.
  3. Why?  Because only during Sale-A-Bration will Stampin’ Up! celebrate their 25th anniversary by giving YOU 25% more products in your Starter Kit for FREE!
  4. Lastly, I’m hoping to find those of you who think they aren’t crafty, but if you just want the kit for a steal, that’s okay too! =)

Get Well Sooner with Freshly Made Sketches #32

Gosh, I feel ashamed, I haven’t made a get well card in so long that I can’t even remember when I made one.  I suppose that’s a good thing right… no one has been ill enough to get one… =)  I also figured that since our new catalog will be coming out soon, and the retired list has posted, I want to make as many cards with my remaining retiring supplies.  You can get a great deal on the retiring stuff now while supplies last too!

I also took adavantage of this time to create this card with the Freshly Made Sketches #32 card challenge layout.  I couldn’t believe that I had card block when I saw the layout… LoL.  But here it is for you to enjoy and replicate.
