Stamp Ink Paper: Color Inspiration

Today is a Stamp Ink Paper challenge and my card looks so unique!  It came out better than I expected too.  Can you see the butterfly cut out?  If you can’t, there’s a better look below and I love it!

Card challenges do just that! They challenge me and this one was a challenge like no other.  I couldn’t make up my mind between a shaker card or a die-cut.  I am super happy with my choice.

The Details:

  • Lift of the page.  Simply adhere a piece of cardstock to the other side of the card and adhere the butterfly or any other image back on the card. In this case, the butterfly was easy to adhere the middle of the body.
  • Add a touch of bling.  I added three rhinestones just so it wouldn’t look so plain.  I wanted the receiver of the card to be able to tell where the body of the butterfly.

Use Host Code above and receive a gift from me when you place an on-line order via my on-line store.  Do not use if your order is more than $150. You will receive additional Host Reward and you’ll automatically receive a gift from me.  Please don’t check out as a guest or your email will be masked and I won’t be able to tell who you are.  Stampin’ Up! won’t release your information to me.

FREE PRODUCT with PURCHASE ENDS March 31!  For every $50 spent (before tax/shipping) you earn free Sale-a-bration items.  Click on each catalog to view either the Occasions catalog or the free items in Sale-a-bration.

Walking in the Rain

Friendship

Here it is my friends!  The plug to the hole in my heart is the Retro Rubber (Card) Challenge. I’m not on the design team, but will start using my vast Stampin’ Up! collection of years gone past.  Cards made with my ‘antique’ collection usually don’t make the blog because they aren’t available for purchase from Stampin’ Up! and I’m not selling them. But now I’ll be able to show them off on the blog and I’m so excited and I only hate that you can’t see the goofy smile on my face.

retro-challenge-50

everything-nice-2005-suStamp set used for the Retro Rubber Challenge (RRCB50) is the retired set And Everything Nice – 2005.  It is absolutely nothing but cuteness.  If you have an older stamp set you’d like to show off I’d also love to see your card on the challenge.

Friendship The Details:

  • Water-color Madness.  For over a month now I have been water-coloring like a mad woman and the best tool I’ve found that works great for me are the Aqua Painters.  They come in two brush sizes and I tend to use the smaller one.  I love that the brush allows me to be able to start off with a darker shade of the color and I brush in short strokes to push the color down where I want it to blend.  You just have to practice practice practice.
  • Please Leave a Comment.  Your comments give me the encouragement to continue the blog and share my love of handmade cards.  I’d love for you to forward this post to a friend and say, “If I had made this card, I would’ve sent it to you.” LOL…then I want you to come back and let me know what they said.
  • Share Some Sunshine.  Did you think of a specific friend when you first saw the retro image and read the cute sentiment?  Please share it.  Scroll down to the bottom of the post and click on the envelope image to share the card with someone whom you think can use a little bit of sunshine today.

I Don’t Have Friends

Friendship

Today marks the last challenge for the long-standing Pals Paper Arts card challenges and I’ve had the honor to have been a team member for the last year and a half.  It’s been fun, it’s been real, and each and every challenge was real fun!  I’m going to miss it, but at the same time there are plans in the works to begin the entry into other card challenges.

Pals Paper Arts 324

This last sketch is one created by the fabulously talented Ginger Toivonen.  I’d love for the last challenge to go out with a bang by getting you to enter a card for the awesome sketch.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge (306): A Trio

Love You Lots Hostess

Never in the history of the whole five years that I’ve been a demonstrator have I used a new set more than once in a matter of three weeks….LOL. But the Love You Lots hostess is so cute that I know it’s going to become a highly sought after set, I just know it.

Pals Paper Arts

The Details

  • Seeing double.  No, the stamp set doesn’t come with two mice looking at each other. I used a clear sheet to transfer the stamped image onto the cardstock to give the appearance of the two looking at each other (in a loving way).  There is someone out thee for everyone even for mice.
  • Floating hearts. The versatile use of the Confetti Hearts punch came in handy with attaching the smallest punched hearts over the lady  bugs and mice.

Stamp Ink Paper: Case the Designer

IMG_0563Today’s card is especially special and a causes a littler nervousness because for the first time you get to decide which team member’s card you want to use as to enter today’s card challenge. When stamping it together I wondered would mine even be somebody’s choice. LOL  But as a card-maker I know that we make our cards for the love of the craft and not to mention the therapy is gives me.Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

To check out what other designs my team members came up with check them out here.

Remarkable You

The Details:

  • Easy Layout.  Stamped the leaves and flower on the matted whisper white piece with the same color matted for the sentiment. Although the flower is just as beautiful without color, the added color makes it more bright against the white background and uncolored leaves.
  • Embellished with Basic Peals and Sequin. The tiny pearls resemble the seeds that often fall from with the flower as it blooms and causes sneezing to those with seasonal allergies (LOL).  But do we care? We sure don’t because these flowers are stamped and are no cause for alarm…HA!

Fishing with Bear

IMG_0394

In my family, we have a hunter and a fisherman and I’m happy about the stamp sets available with deer, elk, and fish (LOL).   What are your favorite cards to make?  Have you ever entered them into a card challenge?

PPA

This week’s card challenge is a sketch put together by none other than the fabulous Lisa Ann Bernard.  Sketch challenges are a perfect way to leave your comfort zone and do something crazy! Tell me, what’s stopping you?

Bear Hugs

  • Water waves. I used Pool Party and Island Indigo cardstock to give the flowing water a little bit of depth. It looks so much better in person though.
  • Floating fish. Well actually, they’re swimming upstream.  I titled them slightly up and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals to deceive the eyes a little.

It’s All About Flowers at the SIP with #49

Enjoy the Little Things

The other day when I initially viewed the Chewbacca Mom viral video I laughed so hard (I cried).  As the video played I immediately thought of his stamp set at the end of her video.  She said it was the simple joys and we should all truly “Enjoy the Little Things” in life.  Her laughter was contagious and so is card-making. =)

Maggie’s Made Tips:

  • Swirly Scribbles New Die-Cuts: You’re going to be in heaven with all the new die-cuts in the new catalog. I had to purchase this one because it has so many uses…this is just one and you are going to squirm when you see the others.
  • Layering Love Clear Stamp Set:  All you have to do to see the other stamps in the set is click the link!!!  OMG! I love that Stampin’ Up! now has these fonts in their inventory.  I show only the clear stamp sets because that is my preference.  If you love wood then you can see it here.
  • Cardstock.  I usually do not list the colors because in all honesty you can choose whatever are your favorite colors.  But if you’d like me to start adding the links to the card stock please send me a message.

A Colorful Work of Art with SIP 48

344_3.SIP

Another sneak peek that should’ve posted on Monday, but as it is said, “Better late than never!” I’ll be making this card at my new and refreshed card classes!  I can’t wait to start using all my new stamps from the new catalog. I’m so giddy with joy and excitement!

SIP 48

I apologize for not getting this out the beginning of the week, but you can still join us for this challenge here.

344_1.SIP

Maggie Made It Like This:

  • Standard 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ card base. Card base is lined with a 5-1/4″ x 4″ Subltes Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Cardstock. Pool Party cardstock is cut 2″x3″ and the Whisper White is cut 1-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ only 1/4″ inch smaller than the Pool Party.  I stamped the frame first so I would be able to center the words in the center.  You’re measurements don’t have to be exact either…the eye-balling method often works better. LOL
  • Stamp Set.  Painter’s Pallette – Photopolymer
  • Ink.  Calypso Coral and Chocolate Chip.
  • Embellishments. I used the medium size rhinestone at the top of the easel and a gold heart from the Metallics Sequin Assortment that is still available.

Sandy Conner Pals Paper Arts Exclusive

Pals Paper Arts

Every year I say the same thing about new catalog items…I’M IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING!  These stinkin’ cute lady bugs are from the Love You Lots stamp set and I used the new In-Color Emerald Envy ink to give them a little pop.  The sentiment is from the And Many More stamp set also stamped with new In-Color Sweet Sugarplum. To add a little sparkle I used two different size Basic Rhinestones on the antennas.  Just as a teaser, the paper is a little sneak peak from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack. I’m willing to bet you are going to love it as much as I do.

I’m very excited about today’s Pals Paper Arts #300 sketch challenge because it was created by our team’s superbly talented Sandra Conner. Come check out all the inspiration by my teammates inspiration talent.
