IMG_4989 IMG_4990

This week (Fri., April 17th at 6 pm) my Stamp Class will make these six cards from the Painted Blossoms Designer Series Paper pack. The paper is perfectly designed to use as backgrounds and so easy to make.

If you live in Solano County, you can register to attend the class here.

Supplies Needed to Make Your Own Painted Blossom Cards

Painted Blossoms DSP

How to Make the Cut

  1. Cut 1-1/2″ from the bottom where the stems are.
  2. Cut the sheet vertically at 4″ and 8″.
  3. Cut the 4″ strips horizontally at 5-1/4″.

You will have six 4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces and all you do now is adhere them to the card base (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″). Stamp them and attach the tags and adhere the sequins.

If you prefer to buy the cards already made, you can purchase the set on The Card Shop for $30. You get the cards, plus a decorated container for you to store your cards. [product id=”20151″]
or you can purchase the kit for $23 and all you’ll need to do is put them together. However, you will need to purchase the adhesive and stapler separately.[product id=”20157″]

Mother's Day and Blendabilities

My 2014-2015 Catalog pre-order arrived earlier this week and I told myself I wouldn’t post anything until you too are able to order the awesome new product on June 1st. But I just couldn’t resist showing you a sneak peek.

Coloring in the Blended Blooms with the Blendabilities alcohol based markers have become an obsession.  If I didn’t have to go to bed for work… I would’ve stayed up until the wee hours coloring.  You do NOT need to have coloring talent, the markers do ALL the work for you!

Stampin’ Up! Some Monkey Business

Hello

My #1 goal as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is to teach others that creativity is not a requirement to make simple handmade cards.  This card is actually massed produced and handed out to people I meet at work, while shopping, or out to dinner.

Now when I say mass-produced these cards, I mean that the images are already stamped on, but the sequence and ribbon are not yet adhered.  That part is left to the person who receives it as lesson one to my intro card making class.  Baby steps… lol.

Shoebox Card Share

In the craft business there is a term we use called Copy and Share Everything (CASE).  As paper crafters we love it because it’s an honor when someone reproduces our designs and adds a twist to the original design.  Creativity spawns more creativity and it is meant to always be shared.

These cards came from the Shoebox Card Share I organize once a month.  We come together as papercrafters to share what we love and together we develop new skills, make new friends, and share what brings us together… papercrafting.

I believe the only card that is CASE’d below is the one belonging to Joy Cinotto.  I didn’t write down where she saw it when she showed us how to make it, but I know it was a new technique to me.  All the cards are just simply so pretty.  None of these ladies have blogs, so if you’d like to leave them a comment, I will make sure they see it.  Thank you so much.

If you are interesting in attending anytime, wether it’s once or twice you can find the dates we meet here.

The Greatest of These is Love

Love

1 Corinthians 13:13
New King James Version (NKJV)

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

I made this card last April as a birthday card for a friend and if you’d like you can read the original post here.  Today I’m reposting it as it reminds me of the bible verse above.

Yesterday I became very angry at someone and I was telling myself that this person didn’t deserve good things.  I took a time out (yes adults need to take a time-out sometimes) to reflect on why I needed to love this person as myself.

It took me an hour… =) but needless to go on and on, I kept seeing this card in my mind as I prayed for this person and that is why on Valentine’s Day… it is here to remind us (but mostly me) that “…the great of these is love.”

So have yourself a lovely day of spreading the love… put a smile on your face and know that you are loved.

That Was Then, This is Now

It’s been a rainy week in Northern California and I love it!  Not just because we need the rain, but because it’s the perfect excuse to stay in-doors and reorganize the craft room.

Then

Above is my original crafting space when I first joined Stampin’ Up!  The tiny desk is actually a sewing desk.  The desk (without the sewing machine) had been thrown in the garbage and I snatched it up and refurbished it.

That little desk was so good to me and I still have it too.  But it now serves as my laptop mini office in another room.  I’m staring at the picture wondering… “where is all my card stock and designer series paper!?”  (LoL)

Stamp Room

Two years and many more supplies later, this is now my craft room.  I moved from a smaller back room to a just slightly larger room located in the front of my home.  It has two windows that face the street and they allow so much bright sunshine into the room.  But for the last four days it’s been raining and I love it!

The room used to be our game room  and one day my son said to me, “Mom, your running out of space to store your Stampin’ Up! supplies, why don’t we just switch rooms?”

Needless to say, I have an awesome son and he uses my room to make me an annual birthday and Mother’s Day card. =)  I’m so proud!
