Golden Stars

Gold Star2

Star light star bright, the first gold star I see tonight… yes, I made this up, but just look at the vibrant yellow golden stars in all their beauty right in front of your eyes.  I’m mostly a white gold kind of girl, but the Fab Friday 50 crew’s card challenge was gold and Whisper White.  Please leave a comment below and tell me if you heat emboss or if you would like to learn.

I normally don’t do too many color challenges because as I’ve said before and I’ll say it again – I’m NOT crafty! But that’s what I love about card making, everyone Creates and Shares everything – LOL.

Gold Star

Now let me tell you how I put it together – I stamped the stars with Versamark and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss.  I applied the rhinestones to give it that extra sparkle that every girl loves (diamonds truly are a girl’s best friend – LOL).  I then stamped the BE MERRY on vellum paper and can you believe I adhered it with Crystal Effects!?  I dabbed on a tiny bit of the glossy lacquer behind the stamped image and it worked perfect on the vellum!   I’ve listed the items I’ve used below so that you too can replicate the card.

Dazzling Details Snowflakes

snowflake1

This is my most favorite Christmas card and I plan on making about 75-100 of them.  It is my favorite because it is the easiest to make and I can churn them out faster than the spark can dry.

Christmas

I normally place rhinestones of different sizes in the middle of each snowflake, but on this one I wanted to try something new and I used Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details.  It adds the same spark as the rhinestone and you just have to let it dry a little.  It’s gorgeous!

A Merry Box

PRODUCT AVAILABLE ON AUG. 28th

Every year I make Christmas gifts for my co-workers and this year I’m more excited than the previous years. Why? Because this is the box the gifts will be put in. I can’t tell you what the gift is, but it’s going to be something crafty… duh. =)

Christmas Gift Box

I fell in love with this oh so cute ‘take-out’ box that assembles without any adhesive.  They are extremely sturdy and all it needs to wrap it up is some of the Festive Designer wrapping paper or any other wrapping paper of your choice. It’s not a square box either… it has a slight slant to it. Check out the two pictures below for a better view of the box.

Stampin’ Up! Noel

I would love for you to help me help you.  I want to give someone FREE Stampin' Up! product aka blog candy.  I'm happiest when you are happy and since I love making cards, I want you to experience the same happiness.

When people first meet me they think one of three things:1) she's a little nutty, 2) she loves making cards, or 3) wow, she's a nutty card maker.  Would you love to have what I'm having?  This post is your chance!

Let me tell you about this card and then you can help me… Keep Calm and Read On.

Christmas

Can you believe that I still have quite a few boxes of My Paper Pumpkin kits laying around!?  To my surprise I found this kit and quickly put them together.  But I think I'm going to need more.

The picture really does not do the card justice.  The actual card is so bright and cheery… I just love it.  If you stare at the red stripes the card appears to be moving as the pattern plays a trick on your eyes.

To enter to win the My Paper Pumpkin Memo Medley Kit (October) all you have to do is answer this question in the comment area below:

Did you have a holiday tradition either growing up or did you start one?

Growing up my parents had a big birthday party to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve.  Family and friends dropped by throughout the night and ate tamales, posole, buñuelos, and so much other types of dishes that you better had showed up hungry.

At midnight we sang happy birthday to the Baby Jesus in Spanish and a piñata would be brought out for the kids to break apart.  Candy fell out everywhere and it was so much fun.

You're thinking "at midnight!?"  Eeeeek!  Yup we stayed up until the wee hours of the morning.  On Christmas day we pretty slept all day.  Those sure were such beautiful memories that will live in my heart forever.

Winner will be announced Friday., December 27th.

Christmas Messages with Joyful Tidings

Christmas

One of just a few clean & simple Christmas cards for some very lucky people.  I designed this card more than a month ago and I only made 20 of them.  All my Christmas will be quick and easy for you to recreate.

As a matter of fact, they were all cut and stamped while I was deployed.  They were all ready to go and I carried them in my backpack because I thought I would stamp on my way home… on the plane.

Then a week before my homecoming, I hurt my lower back and was hardly able to move, much less enjoy some stamping while flying the friendly skies.

After reintegrating with family, friends, work, and starting my recovery with physical therapy… I put all 20 cards together.  They are now ready to be written in and put in the mail.

My questions to you today is… have you finished making your Christmas cards?  I can't wait to read your comments.

A Digital Christmas

OWH 195

I've heard some of you say, "Oh, My Digital Studio is too much for me to handle."  Well, I'm here to share a secret with you!  Use a sketch challenge to design your card… at least until you feel comfortable enough with designing your own.

Question of the Day:  Please comment below… Will you be sending handmade or store bought Christmas/Hanukkah cards?

OWH 1952

I used Operation Write Home's #195 card challenge because it comes with measurements!  Imagine that!  I can never get the paper sizes right to begin with and they are awesome for My Digital Studio beginners.

If you already have MDS and want this layout send me an email (maggie@maggiemadecards.com) with Digital Christmas in the subject line and I will email it to you in a flash.  Play with it, change the paper, just have fun with it!

Code Word: Holiday

Santa Suit1
I recently placed my Stampin' Up! supply order to start putting together my Christmas cards.  This year, I will be sending more cards out than last year, so I figured I'd better get an early start.

This was just a little something to get my practice in… LoL.  I made this card a few years ago, way before I was a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and think this one looks way better than my first one.  Practice makes perfect! =)
ATCAS - code word holidayMy holiday card is brought to you by Addicted to Clean and Simple challenges.  It's never too early for a Holiday and that's why my card for this card challenge didn't need a sentiment.  Would you agree?

The new Square framelits are perfect for making the buckle.  Simply layer the two smallest squares and run them through the Big Shot.  No need to cut or measure… the best next thing since sliced bread. =)

photopolymer

PHOTOPOLYMER:  Another Thank You!  What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.

They are clearly a great choice.  See the rest of them all here.

Merry Christmas to You and Your’s

May your heart be filled with happiness knowing that Jesus is the Reason for the Season. I thank you humbly for visiting my blog. If I had your address, I would’ve sent you this card, which does not need a sentiment because the Christmas Tree has become a world wide symbol of Peace & Joy.

It is not the materiel gifts we receive, but the love we share with all we meet. This year I am humbled that God has given me a gift. The gift of card making. For that I am thankful because something that is made with our hands uses our hearts and our minds to bring love, peace, and friendship to someone.

May you be Blessed and thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting me today on Christmas Eve!

My wish for the following year is that you are blessed with good health. Without health we have nothing. I also hope that next year brings me many friends to share my hobby with as I travel around the world next year.

Merry Christmas,
Maggie Mata
